HOW THE FUCK DO I GET RID OF DANDRUFF
>>
Use anti dandruff shampoo and wash your hair every day/2 days, stop scratching it too because it makes more
>>
>>34767829
there are anti-dandruff shampoos
>>
Buy apple cider vinegar with mother and mix it with water in an even 50/50 ratio. A cup of the mixture is enough.

Wet your scalp and put that mixture on your head. Massage your scalp gently, getting off the gunk on it with your fingers (not nails). Rinse after 10 minutes.

You're welcome.

what kind of shampoo? is it on amazon?

>>34767870
is this equivalent to anti-dandruff shampoo though
>>
Buy Selsun Blue, it worked best for me
>>
>>34767907
>Selsun Blue
I used this a few months ago but it came back.

Are there any permanent solutions?
>>
>>34767887
Head and Shoulders used to be the go-to brand.
Now most brands offer an anti-dandruff product.
>>
use this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfJb8tBTjFg
>>
For me personally, every dandruff shampoo has only made it worse, with the exception of nizoral. It uses a different active ingredient that as I understand it is more like prescription stuff. It's more pricey but it works real good for me?
>>
>>34767887
Its a natural and better way to clean your scalp. Trust me, Ive had bad dandruff flakes that wouldnt go away and tried many antidandruff shampoos and tars. Apple cider vinegar alleviated 95% of my dandruff and sebbhoric dermatitis and made my hair look nicer.

I cannot recommend it enough
>>
rub coconut oil on your scalp after showering
>>
>>34767938
haha I remember this movie, what an ending
>>
>>34767949
damn that is cheap as fuck, I will try this method first I suppose

does it make your hair smell like shit though? do you shampoo and condition normally after using that?
>>
>>34767919
Shave your head. Keep it shaved. Use conditioner in the shower for the shaving. It moistens the scalp and protects the blade from too much moisture. Less rust, lasts longer. Repeat every 3-5 days depending on rate of hair growth.

Permanent solution that is non-repetitive? Laser hair removal and wash the scalp with moisturizing soaps.

This is a little pricey but it does wonders.
>>
>>34768020
Shaving head and scrubbing dandruff scalp with a bath brush sounds extremely satisfying though
>>
>>34767997
It makes your head smell like vinegar. Just dilute it with some water and use regular small amounts of shampoo to get rid of the smell.

Also, stop using lots of hair products if you're into that.
>>
I even have it in my beard and brows, and it's not going away no matter how much I scratch it. What the actual fuck, it's infinite. Just going through my hair with fingers makes it fall down. And I shower every day.

my problem is closer to using no hair products and not showering that often

Don't get memed by these normies who have never had dandruff in their whole life. Anti-dandruff shampoo only gets rid of it for a day at most, and it also dries your scalp too much. The way I got rid of it is by rubbing olive oil on my scalp when i showered (which then you have to get rid of by using a normal shampoo that hydrates your hair).
>>
>>34767829
Never wear the black withoout the blue... Selsonblue...

Your fingers??

Sticking your head under a stream of water isn't going to knock off dead skin.

Gotta rub them turds off senpai.

Had the same issue in high school. Selsun may sound like a meme but it does a good job to be fair.
Someone said it lasts a day but for me it was longer than that.
>>

Hey anon listen up. I used to have mad dandruff. I had longish hair, but then I shaved my head almost bald (unrelated to dandruff but thought of it as added benefit when deciding to shave head). Even after buzz cut I still had dandruff and white flaky shit on my head. Dermatologist prescribed "nizoral" shampoo. Follow the instructions every time I have a shower and dandruff was gone in like a week. Feels good man

Okay retards listen up. You don't want dandruff? FIRSTLY CLEAN UP YOUR FUCKING DIET. Eating like shit will be reflected in the health of your scalp. SECONDLY drink plenty of water. THIRDLY get a small spray bottle, 350ml or something and put 10 drops of tea tree oil, spritz your hair and leave it in for 1-3 hours before you SHAMPOO (with a gentle cleanser, so parabens, ANY sulfate analogs and if at all possible alcohol) and CONDITION. Don't shampoo and condition your hair more than once a week. But spray the shit in your hair every other day and wash it out with WARM water. Make sure TO STIMULATE YOUR FUCKING SCALP I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, get one of those octopus looking head massage things, they're like $4. Make sure to SCRITCH YOUR HAIR at least twice a day, especially after spraying your hair with tea tree oil mixture. Go over your entire head gently scritching (that's stimulating with your fingertips, scratching will take you right back to square 1). Also, change your pillow covers every 3 days. I personally just use a t-shirt that is designated as a pillow cover. Just using apple cider vinegar isn't going to do shit. I used to rain down enough dandruff for Santa to surf on, but ever since doing all this shit I get a smattering of dandruff after shampooing and conditioning and that's it.

>>34768789
Also charcoal shampoo when your head is feeling especially itchy is a good idea. It smells godawful but it works very well, but make sure you've scritched your head good n plenty. But THE most important thing is your diet. Second is scritching. Third is tea tree spray. Fourth is showering habits but it ties in with all three.
>>
>>34768823
Looks like a study room from my old uni
>>
>>34767829
Don't wash your hair with any shampoo, only use cool water.

Doing this completely cleared up my dandruff. Don't get jew'd by hair products
>>
>>34768789
just to clarify, are you saying use the apple cider vinegar the other anon is recommending with all this stuff?

>>34768865
I tried going shampoo free once. I think that's why I started getting dandruff.

Going shampoo free can work really well but it's a lot of work to do. If someone just stops using shampoo and doesn't do all the other stuff they are going to be disgusting and/or get bad dandruff
>>
>>34768883
Using cool water is vital too

Hot water only dries your scalp and makes things worse

I've been doing no shampoo and cool water for years now, dandruff has totally cleared up, now when I rub my head I don't have to experience a snowstorm of dander.
>>
>>34768865
I wash my hair with shampoo once a week (four times a month) and still get massive dandruff
>>
>>34768865
I did that for a month. It was awful. Pine tar soap, with a tea tree oil conditioner clears me right up. Just need to leave in the conditioner for a bit, so I shave in the shower while the conditioner sits on my head.

Just get regular old tea tree oil, the brand doesn't matter. As for conditioner you have to find out yourself. Nothing harsh or overtly cheap. As for the charcoal shampoo I got some shit from Denmark was was some ace shit but it was $35 for a tiny bottle so don't stress that. And get an essential oil shampoo, I go with peppermint.

Don't use a conditioner that has essential oils more than halfway up the ingredients list. And with the tea tree oil spray, use 50 parts water to 1 part tea tree oil. It also makes your hair smell wonderful.

Anyway
If you have persistent dandruff issues even after doing what I said for... I'd say three weeks, then you probably have a scalp infection. Perhaps even a chronic disease, but don't read into it. Let a professional take a look. Also another anon mentioned shaving your head. I would highly suggest doing this, even if it looks bad OP. It takes weight off of your follicles and allows you to evenly spread your natural oils by scritching. Even you can grow facial hair to compensate then do so. I shaved my head and my scalp has never been healthier and I'm growing it out again. If your hair ever becomes greasy then the most likely cause is you're showering too much or by a matter of consequence your diet is grease. Your scalp is a part of the skin; the skin is an organ; all organs deteriorate through specific factors. In this case, your skin is the first to respond to many things such as temperature-don't expose your head to extreme heat or cold. If you go outside and you don't have chrome dome, wear a hat. Also supplementing your diet with biotin (3,000mcg every two days) and small doses of vitamin D help, but they aren't preventative. If you put in the effort to take care of your hair, you WILL see results. Also get consistent haircuts if you forgo shaving your head. Dead/split ends make for unhealthy hair.

You fucking retards, water and soap DRY OUT YOUR SKIN. Wash your scalp less with products that are less harsh and ut will go away. The apple cider vinegar anon has a good solution. I went water only for many years with good results. Invest in a boar bristle brush and brush four hair a lot. The bristles brush dirt and oil out of your hair, but you still need your natural oils there to moisturize your scalp, so if you shampoo it all away what do you think will happen?

I used to have very very dry scalp, and my head would kind of adapt to any on shelf shampoos. Now I switch between a prescription ketoconazole and a zinc shampoo called DHS. Keto is 3 times a week and DHS fills gaps. I must wash every day or I will scratch til my head bleeds.

I get terrible dry, itchy, flakey scalp. I use the therapeutic T-plus shampoos that you can buy from Family Dollar, which honestly, seems to work best for me. Ran out just the other day and bought a new bottle that had Coal Tar in it, so I'm seeing how that works. I also took the advice of my barber and rubbed some coconut oil into my hair. The thing about that is, there seems to be this lingering smell from the coconut oil in my hair and it's rubbed off on my hand and I can't quite get rid of either.
>>
>>34767829
baking soda, far better then any shampoo I've ever tried. Either make a thick paste mixed with water or rub it directly into scalp under water and keep it there for 5-10 minutes, people usually put apple vinegar in their hair after it because it dries out the hair.

It has anti fungal properties and kills fungus on your head that causes excess skin shredding
>>
