Iranian and Persian is interchangeable. Most Iranians in the west call themselves Persians because Westerners are weary of Iran but when they hear the word "Persian," they think exotic and historic. Now post qts or gtfo my thread.

Yes. Iranians are Iranian. They are also Persian.

Iranian is a nationality. Persian is an ethnic group.

There are a lot of Iranian citizens who are not ethnic Persians.

Iran is home to many ethnic groups aside from Persians, such as Turks, Arabs, Kurds, Jews, and others.

It would not be prudent to assume someone is Persian just because they are from Iran (although it is true that most Iranians are Persian--most, not all).
