I'm not sure who you're quoting, but they sound like they had an unfortunate end

I am quoting the events which have occurred in my life
>cut myself while cooking
>implode
>cut off my hand
>live
all you weak faggots need to get off my board
if you can't even cut off your hand without dying you need to get more gud
For future reference, hypothetically, if I were to cut off a hand, or maybe a leg, or something- if I were to apply immediate first aid, how likely would it be that I would survive? Would a simple bit of bandaging be enough?

No. You need to cauterize it, or else you'll still bleed to death and faint and die.

I think if you prevented excessive blood loss, with any method, you could survive
wrapping something extremely tightly around the wound would prevent too much blood from coming out, I forgot what it was called
Actually when a limb is completely severed the blood loss is quite minor compared to when a major blood vessel is ruptured. Can't remember the exact mechanic.
