>freshman in high school
>all of middle school i had a huge crush on this girl
>she never really liked me back
>over the summer break i met a few online friends and got to know them, interested in one of my friends
>grow out of liking the school girl
>when i get back, though, everyone still thinks i like her
>everytime i hung out with my high school friends they would always say something about the school girl
>constantly tell them i don't like her anymore, they won't believe it
>fast forward to the middle of freshman year
>there was a place in my high school that all the kids who weren't picked up yet went to wait
>chilling in hallway waiting for mom to pick me up
>girl walks up with a few of her friends and some of my friends behind her, obviously a few steps back but eyeing us
>"a-anon, do you maybe wanna go out sometime?"
>i could see the look on her face, of pure hope, not thinking that anything could go wrong in this situation
>say the most cold 'no' you can imagine
>i'll never forget the face she made when i said that, along with the other kids
>sort of a mixture of anger and sadness
>"o-oh... okay.." just walks off
>friends all have a surprised look on their faces
>stare at them with an 'i told you so' expression.
