What entertainment makes robots feel nostalgic?

It has been a decade since the Sopranos ended, to me it is a really good microcosm of late 1990s/early 2000s America. It makes me feel really nostalgic.
>>
Loved that show. So much better than that normiefest about drugs, breaking bad.
>>
>>34723249
It really is of its time - that was one of the strongest impressions I had when watching it. This was often to its detriment, though, in my opinion.

Breaking Bad has that wigger faggot Pinkman in it. Normies love drugs and "drug culture".

>that scene where bobby kills someone for the first time and the guy grabs his t-shirt in his death throes and tears part of it off
>only realized years later it's symbolism for him losing a part of himself

Sopranos was unironically deep as fuck, so much symbolism and recurring motifs.
>>
>>34723402
>the sopranos didn't have drugs
do you even listen to yourself
>>
>>34723416
>Emos

I'm nostalgic about emos for a few reasons. One is that they're just emblematic of a time when the peak of "social media" was places like myspace. The other is simply because I find the look hot and am sad that girls of a comparable look don't really exist anymore.

In general one of the things that makes me sad is knowing I'm in my mid 20s and will never experience the concept of teenage love with one of those sorts of girls. It's a part of all our lives that we sort of missed out on and will never, ever be able to experience again, even if we bang teenage girls it just isn't the same.
>>
When I was in middle/high school I played EverQuest, which to this day is the best MMORPG ever created in my opinion (classic EQ, that is). A few years ago I discovered Project 1999, which is a private EQ server that emulates classic EQ very accurately. The nostalgia rush as I created an ogre warrior and went out into the Feerrott to fuck shit up was huge. I didn't realize how much I'd missed this game and how much the other MMOs I'd played since didn't compare. I played for the entire day that day. It was a singular experience.
>>
What sort of things do you guys hate about the mid to late 2010s?

SJWs/anti-whites go without saying, but this whole tendency of being an "ironic nerd", particularly among weebs, pisses me the fuck off. Can't stand seeing all of these girls "ironically" buying dakimakuras and "ironically" playing male-orientated eroge and "ironically" talking about sex on their twitters.

It's a symptom of an entire generation of people who have no authenticity or real-ness to them anymore. They're just an aggregation of whatever they happen to consume in terms of entertainment. Ironically of course.

I feel the same way about Ultima Online.

>Play UO for a few years as a kid
>Loved it
>Was in a guild ran by a Danish woman
>15 years later, decide to google the name of the guild
>Absolutely nothing comes up

It's the same sort of feeling as coming across an old forum you used to post on and seeing the words "Last post: August 23rd 2003" or something like that.
>>
anything set in the 18th and 19th centuries makes me extremely nostalgic

I think along the lines of what OP is saying... for me 'The X-Files' really brings back the feel of the 90's most.

The paranoid, the 'darkness' of the world all around you in comparison to how the world seems now, where I can see HD images, 4K drone videos of practically anywhere or anything...where I can look at satellite imagery of government installations. Hell, practically nothing in 'The X-Files' works in a world where everyone can record in 1080p on their smartphone. It was a more mystical world, in many ways.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_WYb2XiNWA

In fact, I think the X-Files movie, 'Fight the Future' probably captures something about the mentality of people in the 90's better than anything else. Those scenes with the kids on bikes discovering the black oil, or the Oklahoma City-like bombing. God I love that movie.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Dauoy3H764

LOST would be the show that has the most personal nostalgia associated with it though, nothing changed my like that series.

The Sopranos was never good.

That said, I was watching Rugrats with my 8 month old daughter and if made me feel nostalgic. It was the episode where Tommy hallucinates Stu as a cloud, Deedee as a moon and Angelica as a cherub. When I was a kid, I never understood that episode. I now realize it was a fever dream.

4chan was never left-wing. And most other nerdy hangouts and social circles are firmly liberal/left nowadays anyway (think NeoGAF or the major subreddits). 4chan's aversion to postmodern leftism is the exception among online, nerd-orientated communities.
>>
>>34723538
It feels like the internet has completely spilled into real life, and everyone is just a caricature of the many meme-type personalities that 4channers go on about. Is this 4chan's influence or society influencing 4chan?
>>
>>34723814
Yes. It's one of the best TV shows ever made, I say that without any exaggeration.

It makes Netflix trash look amateur.
>>
>Meet a girl on /jp/ back in 2008
>She has no interest in me but is friendly enough
>Nearly 10 years later, after fucking many other girls, I'm still infatuated with this chick and check her twitter every other day

Anyone else know this feel? I want to hear about anons cyber-stalking stories.
>>
>>34723877
It was never left-wing exactly but it used to be apolitical and it used to make fun of racism instead of doubling down on it. I don't even care that actual Nazis decide to post here, if anything it's interesting to see a different point of view, but when every other thread on every single board becomes /pol/, it's fucking tiresome.
>>
>>34724142

Seconding this.

I learnt a lot from Holohoax threads, I've got many infographics saved. I hate racists though.

>>
>>34724142
I get tired of the political shit too, but you only notice /pol/ because you don't recognize liberal stuff as explicit political statements. Eg common shit-thread on /v/:

>"I don't have a problem with [medieval-european themed game featured Manhattan-tier demographics because I'm not a racist!"
>*predictable /pol/ responses follow*

You don't see the first statement as political, but it is.

>make fun of racism

I've been on 4chan since the WT Snacks days and this simply isn't true. Do you remember old /n/ - the board back in 06/07 that replaced /n/ - transportation? That places was basically proto-/pol/. Early /r9k/ had tons of race threads with people like Joshisa, Athens and other /n/iggers.
>>
>>34724142
This
4Chan isn't by any mean liberal but it was less political and you could talk about something besides Niggers or Jews . now everything is about justice 4 Aryans. Were not your fucking personal army milo
>>
>>34724210
But old 4chan would never have made itself the personal army of Trump or the alt right. There was racism but you didn't have every fucking thread in every board ruined by them. Also we weren't religious like we are now
>>
>>34724273
Milo Yiannopoulos is a liberal. I mean that literally. The fact you think some flaming faggot (and I personally loathe the attention whoring GRIDS-having faggot) whose positions basically amount to less immigration and less AA feminism is a radical national socialist of some kind is hilarious. It shows how completely warped your political spectrum is.
>>
>>34724303
>Also we weren't religious like we are now

Only a tiny part of the new right is religious, and even then it's more of a edgy way of distinguishing oneself. Most of them are atheistic types who see a use for religion in terms of promoting adaptive behavior among less intelligent people. There's nothing wrong about that either, by the way, I'm an atheist and the decline in traditional mores has been a negative net loss in terms of the sorts of values that keep civilization functioning (group cohesion, fecundity, family formation at healthy ages etc).
>>
>>34723249
Kingdom Hearts although it's sad that Joel Olsteen is a manlet these days. I wish I had finished Naruto. I can still get caught up on One Piece
>>
>>34724303

Seems to me it is pretty evenly split between people who dislike Trump and people who like him on places like /v/. I don't see dominance of any one type of discourse.
>>
>>34724306
Fine Richard Spencer then. We didnt create memes as propaganda and we really had no political goals. Black people who posted on 4chab didn't get told to fuck off
>>
>>34724368
4Chan in general loves Trump and we will stand with I'm until the bitter end. Trump could forfeit our country to China for a few billion and we'd lick his ass clean
>>
>>34724384
>We didnt create memes as propaganda and we really had no political goals.

This is just symptomatic of the United State's decline from Nation into Empire of competing ethnic tribal grouops. Worsened by the fact democracy engenders even more division in racially diverse countries.

To be fair, the non-white groups have been behaving in a racial-tribal way for decades now, it was only a matter of time before whites saw their status as an impending minority group and started becoming more tribal too.
>>
>>34724418
>4chan in general

You're engaging in confirmation bias.

Even on /pol/ itself there are Communism daily threads now and half of the new threads are "/pol/ BTFO'd!" tier shitposts.

>Trump could forfeit our country to China for a few billion and we'd lick his ass clean

That has been going on for decades with technology transfers and big business access to chinese markets anyway.
