>job
Hey hey, wagie! Better go to work for my free handouts!
They think you're a good worker, if you're planning on going up, do it, otherwise just say no
>>34689102
DONT do it OP
dont fall for the meme. they will string you along for years with promises.
>>34688809
That's what those types of jobs do. The wagie jobs. It's because anybody that works those jobs are either teenagers or fucked up in the head; both having the end result of being unreliable.
They will exploit you as much as you let them, because of how shitty their "talent" pool is, and because there turnover rate is usually way over 50% over a course of the year. Meaning, they expect you to quit, and they don't care. There are plenty of wagies that will put up with it, just like you are, waiting to take your spot, until they too get tired of it.
Plus, if they can sense it in you, they will guilt you until you either quit or start taking the hours.
>>34688809
>Not just ignoring your phone
Eventually they'll stop calling.
>>34688809
Don't pick up, you're not obliged to. It's your day off for a reason. If they ask you why you didn't pick up when you get back to work, just say you don't answer phone calls on your day off because you don't have to.
>>34689102
Let me rephrase this, on my DAYS OFF. They also called me yesterday asking if i can do a 12 hour shift.
I said no, next morning, 'Hey bro can you work today" which i said yes to because it's a 4 hour shift.
>>34689236
>ignoring a cal when you are a security guard / bouncer
Enjoy your welfare.
>>34688809
>started new job a few years ago
>friend tells me they might ring on days off but its better to answer and say no instead of ignoring it
>answer
>say no
>boss looses his shit
>never answer the phone on my days off again
>>34689279
>>boss looses his shit
How? what did he say?
>>34689250
>Let me rephrase this, on my DAYS OFF. They also called me yesterday asking if i can do a 12 hour shift.
>I said no, next morning, 'Hey bro can you work today" which i said yes to because it's a 4 hour shift.
they memed you
>hey joe, call anon today and ask him to work 12 hours. he'll probably say no, which is fine. we'll just call him tomorrow and he'll accept working the 4 hours we need.
>>34689303
The usual guilt trip response at the start but then he went full REEEE and hung up when it didnt work
Came in the next time i was due to work and he got a bit lippy if i remember correctly
I used to work the 4am-10am shift at McDonalds, then they meme'd me over hardcore
>Hey, anon, can you stay another shift and work until 4pm, we really need you.
>ehhhh, I guess.
>Go home, tired as fuck after 4am-4pm shift
>Get call at 6pm
>H-hey anon, I know this is a rough request, but can you work tonight 8pm-2am. We really need you
>... Are you serious.
>We really need you, everyone called off. We absolutely need you, you are our guy.
>But I work 4am tomorrow...
>oh, I didn't know that..., there is no one else, though, and we really need you. We'll get you some extra vacation hours for reward, and overtime. Free meals for a couple weeks too, under the table.
>... I fucking guess.
>T-thanks anon.
Recap:
4am-4pm shift
Then 8pm-2am shift
then 4am-10am shift
Ahh, the good ol' wagie days.
>>34689450
Do they really think we are good workers, or is all this a ruse and no one called off.
>>34689526
no my restaurant really was that bad. Everyone was teenagers or drug addicts and borderline suicidal. And I'm a pseudo-neet with no backbone, so I just put up with it. I don't work there now, though.
>>34689613
should have "fallen" 18 hours into your 20 hour shift and sue them for all the gibs
>>34689647
They make you wear non-slip shoes, and sign forms saying you can't sue them for basically anything. That can't happen.
>>34689670
>Not lighting the place on fire with petrol bombs
Kek, you disgust me
>>34688809
Never pick up on your day/time off if you're not interested in overtime. You know exactly what they're going to ask, and if you become the guy that says yes guess who they're calling first?
In some countries it's illegal to contact and employee on their day off. If they need someone to come in, they can hire more people or more reliable people.
>tfw cheap Mexican labor destroyed the unions and you'll probably get fired for taking my advice
>>34689613
Restaurants are always like that for some reason. It's like every party animal gets a job at a restaurant and then they all become friends there and combine their degenerate friend groups.
OP here, they just called me again
they changed my 4 hour shift, and are now giving me another shift that's 4 hours longer, and i also have to work the same shift tomorrow even though it's my day off.
t-thanks
