Is it me or do things seem a bit different ever since Trump's inauguration. I can't place it but it's weird, it's like the air is different or something.

Perhaps /x/ was right and that we did indeed phase to an alternate timeline in which Trump won, leaving behind the original timeline where Hillary won and Trump faded into obscurity.

Thanks to President Trump, the American Dream is vibrantly alive for the first time in many decades. Killary Rotten Klanton would have finished it off. It's about time we had someone other than a foreign agent of the allied Mexican cartels and Islamofascists in the White House. America deserves better than leadership by bureaucratic saboteurs. We haven't had a non-treasonous president since John F. Kennedy. Lyndon Johnson, of course, had him assassinated to take the presidency for himself. He then ordered the Gulf of Tonkin false flag operation, which kicked off many decades of endless war and treasonous federal governance, culminating in Obama creating ISIS and making Europe the rape capital of the world with the resulting Islamic migrant invasion crisis.

Of course, you might believe that the American Dream is having bloodthirsty traitors in power, spilling the blood of patriots for endless war on behalf of the Mexican cartels and the Islamofascists. If that is the case, then sure, your version of the American dream is dead, and good riddance to that particular nightmare.

Not literally every Baby Boomer is a traitorous cuck. But yes, in general, the generation immediately following the Greatest Generation became the Worst Generation. Baby Boomers is a good description. Their war-torn parents coddled them. Then, these spoiled brats elected the biggest babies among themselves, such as the Bush and Clinton families, to lead the world. Those babies then proceeded to spend their entire lives explosively destroying everything that their parents fought and died for in history's greatest temper tantrum. Thankfully, the good eggs among them such as Trump and the Boomers' descendants managed to mitigate the carnage somewhat.

Kennedy lead us to the moon. Trump will lead us to Mars.

The American Dream is to achieve prosperity for oneself for future generations through hard work. It is to set an example for the world of courage, liberty, opportunity, and progress, so that everyone else might be inspired to liberate themselves and work hard for the benefit of all.

Look it up. It's not "you decide it for yourself." The American Dream is a specific, well-defined concept that, like any other word or idiom, can be described in various ways.

Actually, it is perfectly legitimate to use the name of a political movement's leader as a shorthand for the values that that group stands for. For example, those who follow the teachings of Martin Luther call themselves "Lutherans." This has been a common and accepted linguistic convention since time immemorial.

Trump is a modern Martin Luther who is leading the Protestant Reformation of our time. We are Trumpites in the same sense that a certain church denomination are Lutherans. They do not worship Luther, and we do not worship Trump. We just happen to agree with what the guy is saying.

You are correct that freedom with tenets is not absolute freedom. The word "free" has several meanings. You use the word in the strictest philosophical sense. This sense of the word is not particularly useful, since even a completely unrestricted object is limited by the laws of physics. So absolutely nothing is absolutely free from restrictions, philosophically speaking. Another, more common meaning is to move according to set limits without unusual resistance. The latter sense is what we mean by the word "free" in political discourse.

A properly-functioning car wheel is said to rotate "freely," while a stuck wheel is not. A wheel that is not attached to the car at all has even more freedom of movement, but it is no longer functional or useful. Civilization is similar to a car in this respect. Anarchy is like a pile of separate car parts. Each part might be free to go where it likes, but the car as a whole cannot go anywhere. So, anarchy, rather than freeing those who participate in it, traps everyone in one spot as part of a completely dysfunctional mess. We see this happen in Somalia and everywhere else where anarchy is in place.

In practice, freedom is the ability to do whatever you please as long as your actions do not interfere with the freedoms of others. Capitalism, law, culture, and the social contract connect people together in ways that limit our choices according to the roles that we play in our communities. This enables civilization as a whole to function smoothly and prosper for everyone.

Sensationalism means to exaggerate a matter beyond what is truthful or evident. To use sensational language to describe a sensational matter is not sensationalism. Such a "sensational" description is merely an accurate report of what is going on. Arguing against literally all extreme ideas or opinions that are expressed in strong language is called "The Fallacy of the Mean." To fail to describe a thing accurately is falsehood. Understatement is falsehood the same as overstatement.

Put another way, it is true that a lot of people cry "wolf" falsely. However, the moral of the story about the boy who cried wolf is not that we should never every cry wolf. Rather, the moral is that we should only cry wolf if a wolf is actually present, lest people fail to listen to legitimate alarms. We Trumpites observe that a pack of wolves, such as Hillary Clinton, is slaughtering the townsfolk. Literally. By the tens of millions over several decades. So we are crying "wolf" emphatically as is our duty in the current situation. You all are not listening because others cried "wolf" falsely. So the bloodshed continues, just like in the children's story.
>>
>>34685862
Actually, any insult that does not contribute to the argument is fallacious by ad-hominem. So the assertion that the previous argument contains the ad-hominem fallacy is correct. You are not wrong per se, however. For your information, the actual fallacy going on here is the "fallacy fallacy," which is the assertion that an argument is false because it happens to contain something fallacious. An argument that contains a fallacy can still be sound as long as the rest of the argument holds up.

Lutheranism was an academic leap forward at the time. It was a major improvement on Catholic ideology that struck a major blow against the ludicrously corrupt Catholic church and their "indulgences." We have Luther to thank for ridding the world of such nonsense as "If a coin in the coffer rings, a soul from purgatory springs."

In the present day, Lutheranism is one of the more progressive denominations. They are fine with homosexuality and do not express an opinion on abortion, for example. Their worldview is not correct, but they are not *total* dipshits. The actual total dipshits are, in increasing order of barbarity, Southern Baptists, Mennonites, the Amish, German Baptists, Messianic Jews, Westboro Baptists, followers of North Korean Juche emperor-worship, illiterate cannibal jungle tribes, Scientologists, and Muslims.

Unlike most Trumpites, I happen to agree with the liberals about abortion. Ethically, according to the principle of liberty, a woman should never be forced to bear a child. Abortion corrects for an ethical shortcoming in our biology. A more ideal solution would be to genetically engineer ourselves so that starting a pregnancy requires a conscious approval step. This would remove the legitimate ethical concerns about when, exactly, a person gets human rights during the reproduction process. Genetic engineering has its own significant ethical problems though, so abortion seems to be a reasonable compromise. The same result as the proposed alteration to human biology can be mostly achieved through standard birth control measures anyway.
>>
>>34687350
...Sorry. I should have placed Juche below jungle cannibals on the pecking order of modernity. My mistake there.

It is, isn't it?

It's based around the idea that up until Trump winning the presidency, we were living in the Alpha Timeline. This explains why Trump was endlessly mocked and realistically had zero chances of winning the seat for POTUS.

However, the impossible happened. We seemingly somehow phased our collective consciousness into the Omega Timeline. This is the timeline where Trump won (the same one you and i are currently residing in). Therefore, the Alpha timeline has faded into obscurity or entirely exists in a different plane of thought.

I believe this also has something to do with miraculous patriots come back.

As degenerate as they like as long as all parties consent, according to their preference.

If unmarried partners were generally more diligent about using the pill or an IUD and also a condom like they ought to, then abortion would be a very rare procedure anyway. Religious conservatives, their opposition to sexual education, the resulting magical thinking about pregnancy among uninformed youngsters, and presumably teenagers' and college students' prudish hesitancy about buying contraceptives due to needing to hide sexual relationships from their extremist parents, are the primary cause of abortions in this country.

Fetuses are not "ensouled" at the time of conception because half of all fertilized eggs fail to attach to the uterus lining, which results in death. God would not have created a system of life by which at least half of all souls in the afterlife emerged from single-celled organisms. Otherwise, most of the people in Heaven would be single-celled organisms living in *really nice* petri dishes. But killing a baby immediately before birth would be unethical. So, the time at which abortion becomes unethical must be sometime between conception and birth. Before the third trimester seems to be a reasonable place to draw the line that respects the rights of both mother and child.

If the Bible had been written by an omniscient god, it seems that it would have anticipated the need to answer this question explicitly in the text. Answers about gun rights and democracy would have also been nice. But the Bible does not address these matters or any other technological anachronisms that could only be explained by divine influence. So it appears that it was written by regular bronze-age humans who had no concept of abortion, firearms, or democracy.

"Muslim" is not the same as "brown." Blacks and hispanics practice Christianity at higher rates than white folks. People can be Muslim if they want, but this multicultural tolerance crap has to end. People have a right to freedom of opinion, freedom of expression, and freedom of association. Nothing about this requires compassionate restraint in academic discussion. All claims are subject to criticism and debate, no matter how intensely they are held.

We should not be violent towards people for mere ideas. But if Muslims want to bring their primitive, bigoted, bronze-age ideology into this country, they ought to deal with constant shame and ridicule for their statements and behavior from the rest of us. We would do the same against any group that expressed the same ideas but with any other label than "Islam." Free exchange of ideas and the resulting open debate of ideas is what the First Amendment and the founders' Renaissance values were supposed to produce. We are supposed to be arguing with each other to figure out what the best ideas are, not "coexisting."
