What I've seen with women it's usually those who used to have eating disorders that view eating large amounts of food or gaining weight as such a taboo that they get off seeing other people do it, also a part of eating disorders is control so maybe it could be with that too. I think mainly if you have an eating disorder at a young age while you're still developing emotionally and sexually can have an effect on it becoming a fetish
