I've only watched Pokemon and like it pretty well but want something more mature to enjoy.
fate/zero is basically pokemon but with historic heroes.
Watch digimon. Its more mature, slightly. Its fun and has pokemon like creatures and deals with issues a little.
If you want real real mature watch elfen lied
wangan midnight
Code Geass
Princess Tutu
Cowboy Bebop
Steins;Gate
Nichijou
Yuru Yuri
Cardcaptor Sakura
K-ON
>>34650918
Pretty good list outside of Code Geass.
>not reading superior manga
>>34651130
>not reading actual books instead of kids comic books
>>34650918
Steins; Gate looks pretty good, so does Cowboy Bebop
>>34650805
watch Initial D. It's like pokemon but with cars instead of pokemon.
Its also nothing like pokemon
>>34650805
I guess I've also seen some Bleach and remember liking it. My sister was really into it along with the manga of it when I was about 9-12 but she grew out of it.

Here is a suggestion: Stop watching anime.
>>34652047
Name some? I've never heard of Nazi anime. It sounds like a meme
>>34652153I was actually memeing. It's an Elliot Rdoger reference. However, Nazi anime is an actual thing.
Hellsing Ultimate
Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shaballa
Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn
Black Lagoon
Monster
The Legend of Koizumi
Spriggan
Mazinger Z
Lupin III
Mobile Suit GundamMore information: https://myanimelist.net/featured/2043/11_Anime_and_Manga_Featuring_Nazis. I haven't watched any of those, though, or any other Nazi anime.
>>34652221
Seen 7 of those, Hellsing aside they're all pretty brief nazi encounters though.
>>34650805
Pokemon isn't anime
Watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, the original series and The End of Evangelion movie
It's the only film (animated or live action) that is made for robots, it will fuck you up but you will love it
Fuck the evangelion reboot, it's chad trash
If you like Pokemon, you should watch Digimon Savers; it's not made for kids, which is why it's a lot better; I've seen it 4 full times. You have to watch it subbed, though.
Also watch Welcome To The NHK; I've seen that 5 full times. The dub is good.
you need to watch yuru yuri OP

No dub is good, kill yourself.

The most mature stuff end up having highschool tier logic and phylosophy since most writers are just ignorant fucks who write as a hobby and "mature" shows are just tryhard garbage.
>Inb4 someone mentions Hikuhara
That's exactly what I mean.
Watch Sakura Trick
Read Boku Girl
that's all a man really needs
>>34653369
Mature doesn't mean what you think it means

Cowboy Bebop is even better in english dub.

I only started watching anime recently but my habits are sort of weird. I started out with Chobits, then watched something super-moe recommended by a friend (Rabbit Caffee or something), then Serial Experiments Lain, all of K-On and now finished Eva and Perfect Blue.
I guess my cycle says that after watching something serious I need to pick up something cute, like K-On. Any suggestions?
>>34653409
I had a reasonably similar start. K-On, Eva, SEL etc in my first 10.
I'd recommend Hidamari Sketch for a good cute girls doing cute things animeme. Or Love Live if you want more borderline lesbians singing songs
>>34653409
I'm a bit like that too, after something serious I prefer a bit of comedy after some crazy action thing I prefer a little slice of life. Maybe something like Nichijou or Paniponi dash could work you.

Man, everywhere I see people praising the various monogatari shows, and I wasn't able to stand a single one of them. Just, this unbearable loliharemshit with long tedious dialogues, often about things that could've been summed up in one or two sentences. Thank fuck for Kaiki Deishu who turned Nisemonogatari into the most bearable of the lot.
>>34653563
Sounds like you have ADD or something.
>>34653623
Nah man, I'm not one of those who have attention span issues and have to see action and explosions ever 30 seconds (I take it that's what you're thinking?). I enjoy a lot of similiar dialogue heavy shows like SZS; Tatami Galaxy, LoGH and many of the really stale slice of life too. It's something with the particulars of the show, I had the same reaction with Aku no Hana.

Avatar if you can consider it to be an anime.
>>34653744
FMA 2003 is really good too, for the first 25 episodes where it mostly follows the manga. Kinda weird second half.
Real kid voices Al in the English dub in 2003.

>>34653775
Panty and Stocking is pretty good
>>34653799
I agree. Although Brotherhood was more polished, FMA did a better job at showing the first half of the story. For example:Colonel Hughes's death had quite a lot of gravitas in the original, but his lack of development in Brotherhood made me not give a shit about him. Another example was the alchemist who turns his daughter into a chimera. FMA spends a lot longer dwelling on it, and makes it have a larger emotional impact than Brotherhood.

LoGH portrays the battle between autocracy and democracy in form of the interstellar conflict between the Empire and the Free Planets Alliance. It features massive space battles between fleets numbering in the tens of thousands, politics, the strengths and weaknesses of democracy, and ultimately, the flow of history.
The story is centered around two talented men on each side of the conflict and their duel, spanning half a decade: Reinhard von Musel, a recent military academy graduate from a poor aristocrat family and Yang Wenli, sub-lieutenant and war hero of FPA.

Bakemonogatari

Mobile Suit Gundam and Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam
also Armored Trooper VOTOMS
Ashita no Joe 1 and 2 (go to 2 after the 54th episode of the first one because that's where 2 begins)
YuYu Hakusho (dub specifically)
Space Dandy (again, dub, infact the dub even aired first)
Stuff with western influences in general tend to have really high quality dubs.
>>34655484
>"Stuff with western influences in general tend to have really high quality dubs."
>lists YYH
>doesn't realize almost all the japanese references are translated horribly
The dub vouce acting was great, but it would be better if they kept the japanese reference since it actually explains a lot of the origins and motivations (e.g. you see why Urashima's weapon is the fishing pole and the Idunn box--the team he was on is the "reverse fairy tale" team).
>>34655760
I'm not him and while I generally prefer subs I love Yusuke's voice actor. The way he speaks is cool, I wish I could talk like that.
Subs are better anyways but dub has it's merits.

I know YYH isn't one of those western influenced anime but it's one of the ones where the dub is definitely a better choice.
>OP asks for a mature anime

Berserk is required watching for this board, it is without the greatest manga ever made and one of the greatest pieces of media ever made. Read just a single chapter and you'll be hooked till the end.

Ah, haven't seen you flaunt your faggotry in a while now memepolice-kun, well done!
I saw Umi no Shinpei btw, it wasn't too bad, I can't see a 10/10 in it (honestly if you haven't, check out the stuff americans did with Popeye around the same era, it's much better craftsmanship) but 6.5/10 works, a worthwhile watch.
Jojo's bizarre adventure

>>34657418
kek pray tell, what redeeming qualities brought you give it a 10?
>>34657410
I'm being the real here, check the airing dates anywhere and it will tell you the English dub aired first.
Japan had like one or two episodes air first for them (I said "or two" because one of them aired on the same day so it could be before or after) and that one was just the last episode of the first season.
>>34657489
it's got the most variety of any anime ever
you've got the musical numbers, you've got the romance, you've got the action, you've got the comedy, you're got the history lessons, you've got the truth bombs on race, you've got the drama and you have some of the best animation in the genre
>>34657557
Well fuck me sideways. Haven't checked the eng dub, but I thought jap VAs did a really good job tho. Only english dub I've preferred so far has been Bebop, mainly because it doesn't have too many japanese names that needs pronouncing which the english seiyuu tend to fail hard at, and Spike has the voice of god
>>34657667
It's by the same director as Bebop, dub has a different intro for a bit but keeps the English ED throughout.
Honestly I think the English intro and ending are more fitting for it but I did like the subs ED when I listened to it.
Also they gave QT a robotic sounding voice rather than just making it sound normal.
>>34657638
You can find plenty of other anime containing all of that except possibly the little lower race-glints, and some. The animation is disney-esque, they haven't spared any work on stills sure, but it jumps and glitches in movements, it's not that impressive even considering it's early showa era.
>>34657758
Might need to give it a try then.
>>34657831
>>34657831
