If you like Pokemon, you should watch Digimon Savers; it's not made for kids, which is why it's a lot better; I've seen it 4 full times. You have to watch it subbed, though.

I only started watching anime recently but my habits are sort of weird. I started out with Chobits, then watched something super-moe recommended by a friend (Rabbit Caffee or something), then Serial Experiments Lain, all of K-On and now finished Eva and Perfect Blue.

Man, everywhere I see people praising the various monogatari shows, and I wasn't able to stand a single one of them. Just, this unbearable loliharemshit with long tedious dialogues, often about things that could've been summed up in one or two sentences. Thank fuck for Kaiki Deishu who turned Nisemonogatari into the most bearable of the lot.

Nah man, I'm not one of those who have attention span issues and have to see action and explosions ever 30 seconds (I take it that's what you're thinking?). I enjoy a lot of similiar dialogue heavy shows like SZS; Tatami Galaxy, LoGH and many of the really stale slice of life too. It's something with the particulars of the show, I had the same reaction with Aku no Hana.

I agree. Although Brotherhood was more polished, FMA did a better job at showing the first half of the story. For example: Colonel Hughes's death had quite a lot of gravitas in the original, but his lack of development in Brotherhood made me not give a shit about him. Another example was the alchemist who turns his daughter into a chimera. FMA spends a lot longer dwelling on it, and makes it have a larger emotional impact than Brotherhood.

The dub vouce acting was great, but it would be better if they kept the japanese reference since it actually explains a lot of the origins and motivations (e.g. you see why Urashima's weapon is the fishing pole and the Idunn box--the team he was on is the "reverse fairy tale" team).

Subs are better anyways but dub has it's merits.

I'm being the real here, check the airing dates anywhere and it will tell you the English dub aired first.

Japan had like one or two episodes air first for them (I said "or two" because one of them aired on the same day so it could be before or after) and that one was just the last episode of the first season.

Well fuck me sideways. Haven't checked the eng dub, but I thought jap VAs did a really good job tho. Only english dub I've preferred so far has been Bebop, mainly because it doesn't have too many japanese names that needs pronouncing which the english seiyuu tend to fail hard at, and Spike has the voice of god

It's by the same director as Bebop, dub has a different intro for a bit but keeps the English ED throughout.

Honestly I think the English intro and ending are more fitting for it but I did like the subs ED when I listened to it.

Also they gave QT a robotic sounding voice rather than just making it sound normal.

You can find plenty of other anime containing all of that except possibly the little lower race-glints, and some. The animation is disney-esque, they haven't spared any work on stills sure, but it jumps and glitches in movements, it's not that impressive even considering it's early showa era.
