Mostly just guys asking stuff about women. It was really great. Lots of super long unique posts that ended up with a ton of content worth reading. You had to or you'd face a terribly long ban for being unoroginal. Blox posting was annoying so we always needed more mods to ban these short-posters. Eventually the women questions became women bitching when /adv/ was created and the great purge of r9k began. They started to seep into other boards like /v/ but eventually all the fucking loser NEETS flocked back when it was reopened.

Now everyone assumes posters here are losers because of people keep bumping autist threads all day.

Before there were no "normies", just anons. Anyone who says that word is ignored by any old posters. All frog posts are instantly hidden for being extremely low content.

At first, legit gentlemen producing original content. Then somehow it descended into a place to give and receive advice, most of it on girls. Which eventually brought in the misogyny this place is so known for. And the overabundance of advice threads lead to the creation of /adv/, the result being in /r9k/ just becoming a cesspit of misogyny and nothing else. Then somehow, over time, there was an increase of camwhore threads both on /r9k/ and /adv/, which lead to the creation of /soc/. Then it relegated back to misogyny (it was a much more defining characteristic back then) and social ineptitude. Then it became a place of greentext stories, one of the few contents from this place that wasn't shit. And then moot deleted ROBOT9000 for a period of time.

It was a lot slower and more thought out. Literally for days I could have conversations with people from different parts of the planet.

The only shitposting was BBC spam, but the mods would clean it. There were literally no 3dpd waifu, faggot, etc threads. Literally none. There were gay people being gay threads, but it wasn't the ironic le me-me kind. Before 2008 most of the boards were good, but then Autistic psychopaths took over most of the boards. /r9k/ was good until it went down (2011), basically. The reason it went down was because they stopped cleaning it, same reason the entire website has been shit for almost a decade.

Threads usually had some sort of theme, autists telling eachother their weird things and still not realizing they could get help for it, etc. Females would sometimes have threads but there wasn't nearly as much retarded shitposting in response.

Many people should just literally be banned from the internet, they only use it to interfere with better people from doing constructive things.
