I just transferred classes (freshman high school) and I'm having to catch up on half a year of moon runes. The whole class speaks japanese. If I want to speak english, I have to ask "eigo i desuka"

over skype, share my screen and show the stroke orders. I would teach the characters in groups and have everyone practice, then come back in a day or two and teach some more, i might even get a movable camera so i can do it on paper

I've started learning Japanese about a week ago. Got kana more or less well albeit slow, like a child learning to read and now I'm getting into vocab and basic sentences.
You could try to drop contact info, but I'm very shy, so its mostly sure I woldn't try to contact back.

I tried learning on my own for years watching the public access 'lets learn japanese' show (highly recommend it's soooo retro 80's japan charming..can probably be found, i torrented it)
and i had very little luck. never even broke into Hiragana. Then i took an actual course in university, i swear i learned more in a month than in 5+ years of (half assed) self study.

However i do recommend downloading the Rosetta Stone Japanese program, it's fantastic, and on pirate bay.

I've put my hands on all the grammars and textbooks I could find around (Fun story is that mr. town's library had only one, dated 1939.)

I've "learned" only latin based languages so far, and it was "somewhat easy" but I already knew one and I knew latin, so it's kinda cheatey.
