Seven to Eternity is a sy-fy fantasy series with beautiful aesthetics and great characters.
My city (Huntington WV) has a Tricon comic convention each year and indie artist sell there and make great works.
Finally a new series I think has potential, Hillbilly by Albatross publishing. It only has one issue but I'm optimistic about its future.

Well, I did it 25 years ago because I was an intellectual computer nerd that lived in a rural area.

We didn't have videos to watch or internet tutorials. We had to just poke at shit because we were bored.

First you need to learn to program. You don't need to be great, but you need to learn basic C. You will need this in order to be able to write simple programs that you can exploit. Then you need to learn something high level like python.

Find some computer security courses / tutorials. Start with simple things like stack / heap overflows. Then add in a nop sled and a payload. Then work on network vulterabilities.

Also, go watch the old DEFCON videos. They have torrents for them on their site.

You can use whatever OS you like, but it will be easiest with a linux or BSD VM. I would suggest Kali linux or something similar. Don't hack your main box and always hack "naked" (no security software). Oh, and don't do anything illegal.
