She lives in NYC and I live in LA. We broke up mainly because I needed to live here and she needed to live there for our careers. Don't get me wrong - there were rough patches during the relationship that also steered things towards the eventual cliff, but overall it was pretty "magical" for lack of a better term. We had plans to move to NYC together after college. When I started bringing up the fact that I was worried I might be giving up on my career by not giving LA a chance, she ended up super depressed and slept with her roommate during the grey area of our "breakup." That basically sealed the deal and made up my mind about moving across the country. She moved to New York with him instead and they're still together four years later.
