Academic work if you play it right and don't do PURE science ie maths, chemistry etc. Of course if you go too SOFT ie gender studies you can get shut down anytime.

After recounting my love life, having some insecurities confirmed, and reflecting on that I can safely say my day is ruined. currently thinking about what the best career choice is for someone who just wants to fuck off and not deal with many people because I'm finding more and more ways i don't fit in. getting married and shit would be nice but looking back at everything i was clearly not wired for that.
i guess being a hermit with a bunch of books, music, and vidya wouldn't be too bad but i need to make enough money to actually sustain that

Communications is a waste of time. If you have good prospects in another subject I suggest dropping comms and picking that instead, you could also get an apprenticeship if those are things in your country. Or work at the kind of job that you can work up through. I could also suggest starting your own business but that takes a lot of time and preparation. (and money)
