If the concern of others regarding your virginity is the only thing that bothers you about your condition, I have good news for you. As a wizard, I can assure you that when you reach my age, no one cares whether you've had sex.

This occurs for several reasons, largely depending on why you are a virgin. If you're a relatively normal person, after a certain point everyone assumes you've had sex. You may not be some Adonis, you may have your share of flaws. But what of it? The vast majority of people have sex after having reached a certain age, and they needn't be gods to do so. You'll walk into your workplace and won't have to concern yourself with rumors regarding your virginal status; everyone will assume, reasonably enough, you've had sex just like the vast majority has.

If you happen to be a virgin because you're repulsive, they'll have no need to remark upon it either. They'll take your virginity for granted. Rather than obsess about it, they'll turn away and pretend not to see you in the first place. To do otherwise would inspire survivor's guilt, it would mean having to acknowledge someone has truly been left behind. So they force themselves to deny what they already know. They may comfort themselves with platitudes about there being someone for everyone. But such thoughts will never be anything more than a quick mantra to banish you from their minds, to give them license to forget the hurt of those who will never have what they take for granted.

So, there will be a time when no one cares about your virginity. No jokes, no jibes...and no concern. If there ever comes a moment you feel a need to reach out, to have someone recognize your pain as real, it'll be too late.

Grown men don't believe in ghosts or monsters, after all. And if they happen to see one? They'll convince themselves it was nothing more than a bad dream.
