Why do people still use these when earmuffs are vastly superior?

I usually prefer new technology, but earbuds aren't really comfortable to me at all.

the earmuffs are much bulkier, so if you're listening on the train or the bus or while walking, its kinda awkward to carry them around wherever you go, if you aren't a woman and don't have a bag. they're more convenient. anyone who unironically uses them for normal listening is a fucking retard, though.

I use earbuds when jogging or going outside at all and my good headphones when listening to the music is my main activity. Running in the forest is easier for me with earbuds because they limit neck movements less.

earbuds are more comfortable for me to listen to asmr with when i'm trying to sleep.

Every time I try to follow some guide on what to buy I always get overwhelmed by all the options and never choose anything. It doesn't help that I know nothing about acoustics and my taste in music is varied enough to the point where I can't simply pick one based on the reccomendations like "it's got good bass if you like dubstep" or whatever
