Self-improvement involves accomplishment a goal,so the last thing you're thinking about is yourself. You're playing music, balancing a proper diet, studying science, creating new experiences, learning about the world around you.

Finding your courage shouldn't be self-improvement. Going out and getting outside of your threshold, taking risks, doing dangerous stuff. I think that might be up some robots alley. It's fun to feel blood pumping through your veins doing exciting stuff. Being a natural coward doesn't diminish the experience, but enhance it. You might get a kick out of running down hills in the woods on private property. You might get injured, and pain sucks, but some of you might be surprised by how resilient you are. You could also be horribly injured, which is why it shouldn't count.
