I prefer to draw frame-by frame animation.
Sharpening my drawing chops with a studio drawing course.
Got some pretty fantastic gear recently, lots of graphite and charcoal, few new sketchbooks, also a wand scanner so I can throw my doodles onto my computer quickly.

That's good, keep following them. As a critique your ear is completely fucked up, ears don't follow the head shape, they stick out, even with a connected earlobe. Also they're at the same level as your eyes, which I see you tried to do but again because of the angle you were going for they need to follow the curved line instead of the straight one you drew in the outline.

Also because of the angle of the face, there needs to be more definition on the brow line, there should be an indent where the eyebrow and socket connect.

I'm sorry if I'm not explaining it correctly, I'd show you by drawing over it but I'm phoneposting atm

It's definitely overused but symbol drawing is a huge problem a lot of beginning artists face, it's difficult to overcome, so it comes up a lot.
