No idea what it is about the goldsource engine but it's the most comfiest game there is. Nothing like loading up some Sven Co-op and playing some retarded puzzle maps that had bars and shit (not forgetting TS roleplaying maps)

I'm a captain at a small airline. I fly a Beech 1900. I feel very comfy settling in at cruise altitude watching the sun set over the rocky mountains during a night flight. The last minutes of burning sunlight setting fire to the Rocky Mountains and cloud bases below me. My eyes and mind become relaxed after enduring an intense series of events and preparation that results in a safe and timely departure. I dim the lighting of the cockpit as the sun disappears so that my eyes can rest from the hours of flying I've done earlier in the day. I turn on the ice light periodically, illuminating the leading edge of the wing. As I look at outside I am mesmerized by the propeller spinning against the night sky. In the snow or rain, the light gives us the feeling of warp speed as the droplets pass by us at 280 miles per hour. Time in cruise that is usually occupied with frat conversation is instead kept sacred by me and the first officer. We sit silently, monitoring our aircraft and navigating our minds.

I tried to describe this experience as well as I could. I don't have a photo, but this cockpit is very similar to mine, and the time of day is as close as I could find (we don't have autopilot or gps in our planes, we hand fly everything and navigate using ground based radio stations).

What lake is this, if you know? Looks fairly low in elevation, likely a reservoir as well and not a natural lake judging by the shoreline. The vegetation and warm colors are beautiful, though.

I don't think it is. At first it wasn't exactly clear to me why. These small town, simple scenes usually are.

I think the difference has to do with how the photograph is framed. The open expanse of horizon is the rub. The comfiest images in some way evoke the womb. They have boundaries. They have some delineation between the safe present and the infinite other That's what this photograph is lacking. It needs hills, walls, buildings, trees, something. Some kind of barrier. Anything to tell us that we are here and everything else is outside.

For an Underground laboratory it had quite a bit of diversity. You had your standard laboratory places with big ass computers and machines. There was the office complexes, The Industrial sections like what the waste treatment plant. Nice big, outdoor sprawls of desert. Hell they even had their own motherfucking weapons depot there.

Black Mesa is more like a community than anything else really. God I wish I could work at place like that.
