gen 1 bionicles looked pretty stiff imo. I feel like 2004 was the year they got them perfectly naturalistic and "full" looking, while not overdoing it (like in 2009/10 with the actual hand pieces as hands). I don't get how you could think gen one toa are better designed than the 2004 ones. Those ones kept the atnosphere and style but just fully realised it

Gen I toa evoked more character to me, but were also more unique. 2004 toa were complete copypastes, which I don't mind for things like bohrok (they're supposed to be a swarm) but for individual toa they should be more varied.

I enjoyed building them and imagining the stories and shit
