I don't eat when I'm not hungry
When hungry, I eat but only until I'm not hungry anymore. If at any point during eating I'm not hungry anymore, I stop eating.
Also, I never buy soft drinks or potato chips.

The real issue is that most fat people are addicted to food. I used to be morbidly obese and will probably always have a horrible relationship with food and have to monitor my eating habits for the rest of my life. We all have our demons, at least I didn't get addicted to crack or something equally horrible.
