Remember how Tony Stark aka Iron Man was the coolest new superhero back in 2008? Remember how everyone praised RDJ's performance?
RDJ delivered a pretty dry, monotone, autistic but somehow charismatic performance. He was so fucking cool and I wanted to be him so bad. I was 13 at the time. I changed my entire personality to be dry, autistic, and monotone like he was. Today I'm still that way and nowhere near as cool as he is.
his a actor he can have any personality he wants. i guess keep on trying to change your personality.
The character works because he is a rich genius billionaire or whatever in the film, but in contrast, he acts like a dry autistic monotone snarky cunt to everyone.
The contrast of these two qualities makes for a good foundation for a character.
If an average dude were to run around being a snarky cunt to everyone, he would just seem like a dick.
If someone who browses 4chan all day were to do it, it would be sad.
b urself :^)

>Molding himself after a fictional character
I regret to inform you that the autism is likely something you were born with

He was 13 and thought this guy was cool so he decided to try to be him.
he succeeded (sort of)
Now this is who he is and that is his current problem
be yourself? He is himself and it's not working for him.
That's the problem with a great many of today's millenials and as far back as baby boomers. It's all thanks to the media.
So what you get is "mass culture" which is a very bad outcome to society. Everyone is imitating artificial concepts and constructs instead of imitating real humans.
Because no character is as complete as a human, we end up fragmented and have our minds scrambled into pieces through all the characters we worship.
Maybe you got it harder maybe because you worshipped a single character instead of a cumulative ideal?
who knows...

RDJ is basically an autist himself so you're extra screwed lol

pretty soon movies will stop parodying real life, and real life will start parodying movies.
what a crazy time to be alive

>Remember how Tony Stark aka Iron Man was the coolest new superhero back in 2008? no

Iktf, OP.
>be depressed out of HS
>get into Doctor Who
>get to Tenth Doctor/Rose Tyler
>depressed at the time because blonde girlfriend who looked a little like Rose was in the hospital
>felt like she was gone forever some days, didn't know if she'd wake up
>identified with Tenth Doctor really strongly, cried like nothing else at the Rose romance and seperation
>anyway
>start to idolize Tenth Doctor like you and Tony Stark
>act like him, even try to fake the accent IRL
>quotes, clothing, the whole deal
It was a high level of cringe, but fortunately it helped me realize that just because I idolize someone on TV doesn't mean that actually acting like them would make people like me. TV characters are written to impress themselves often through extraordinary circumstances and abilities, and always on an audience that cannot interact in any way as a relatively blank slate for the audience to attach their own ideas onto. They don't function as actual humans.
