The world tends not to be nice to people.

The disillusioned at the top are isolated from the rest of the world, but manipulating it can brings little pleasure and begets more suffering. Kids are raised with a sense of "duty" to work, to obey and to pay for their controller who reaps the spoil of the labour in harvest. The only time we hear to find passion, love in other people or an enlightenment, it's passed down mouth to mouth until the intention is reduced to mush. We are taught by our billboards, conditioned by social fears and what you "ought" to do, to buy that new recliner, get that new wallpaper or fancy car to one-up that damn neighbour. No one has an outlet anymore, there's little togetherness in humanity now, like you may have found in a tribe thousands of years ago.

There's seemingly no escape from a grinding world of hate and control, I'm no magical guru that could offer one either. But here we can have a little desert island amongst the raging storm.

For me, to see this board be nice gives me a little hope. Let's both promise to be nice, as much as we can manage, and maybe the tide will turn one day. In the meantime, this thread's pretty comfy.
