>decide to try one of those alpha wava binaural videos
>get comfortable and close my eyes
>mind is racing, but just trying to focus on the sounds
>5 minutes pass, notice my heartbeat and start focusing on that
>mind becoming more and more empty
>20 minutes pass, at this point i've lost all sensation below the neck, almost feels like i'm floating
>suddenly experience a bright flash of light, as if someone turned on a light-bulb right above my face
>arms and legs start twitching uncontrollably

this is where i started getting freaked out and stopped the session short

what the fuck
>>
>>34418263
You don't really need the sounds. Meditation is really just a way to focus on something else for a while and get your mind into some other place.

Even try it just closing your eyes and focusing on your breathing. I remember Limmy always goes on about that shit helping his stress and depression.

that's the devil trying to get into your soul, you haven't been going to Church every sunday have you? This is what happens when people think they're above our holy God

I've never heard of that happening. Weirdest meditation experience for me was when I forgot to set a timer and ended up meditating for like 20 extra minutes. I was actually so utterly calm it was like I was fucking high or something. Really cool experience, but 40 minute meditation sessions are a bit much
>>
Has meditation actually had any tangible positive effects on any of you bots?

>>34418473
Pineal gland regulates produces melatonin, which regulates sleep.
>>
Damn this dude really took the zenpill hard
>>
>>34418594
I used to meditate semi-regularly and it helped me a lot with my anxiety
>>
>>34418263
Hey I have an issue that is sort of related to this. It should go on /x/ but I'll put it here. I tried one of those meme succubus summoning rituals a few nights ago not expecting it to work. However my body went all warm and tingly, sort of like energy, and I got a raging boner. It was a very weird feeling, got all flushed and hot. At this point I freaked out and tried to banish the feeling by repeating fuck off in my mind. I literally couldn't sleep for the rest of that night. This really freaked me out since before that I was septic and did not believe in magic at all. Was that like a self induced hypnosis or something? I didn't actually summon anything right?
>>
>>34418736
hit me up with the ritual and I'll report back with my findings
>>
>>34418786
I'll have a look for it. I choose it specially because it didn't require any shit like candles or bodily fluids because I did not expect it to work - it involved just repeating some stuff in your mind and some visualisations

>meditation is real?
What? Of course it is, silly. Just remember to do it for the sake of doing it and to make it a habit. Do not do it expecting an immediate result when you are feeling stressed or down or whatever.

Also be sure not to think about aliens when you meditate, or they will come to you.

It is now too late because you are thinking of aliens.

Yeah meditation is real. The binaural stuff is real too, but I don't like it. It makes me feel weird and I get really weird dreams. Just stick to meditation.

I used to be scared of aliens when I was a kid. Even had a book of aliens in area 51 that freaked me the fuck out. Ever since that meme, I haven't been afraid of them anymore.

t-thanks, memes.

read my post

>be trying to lucid dream for 4 and a half fucking months, no results.
>put in hours opon hours of practicing and reading
>have watched about every video and article on lucid dreaming twice
>no results
>decide to try guided meditaton (hypnosis)
>tried it before and it didn't work, but figured if i do it after 2 hours of sleep it'd probably do somthing
>had 2 lucid dreams in one night (not vivid but i was so confused i forgot my methods to highten the realness)
>all those months and this, was the answer. all that hard work was just a waste of time (other than gaining trivial koledge)

theres untapped potential in lucid dreaming, thats why i want to do it so bad to cure my anxiety, i won't tell you guys my theary because i can't trust you with that power

oh, and sorry for spelling, i'm just too intellegent
>>
>>34419475
Yes and no.
Not all aliens are mothmans.
But all mothmans are "aliens."

>>
>>34418263
Of course meditation is real. Its about finding oneness and inner peace, the psychology behind it is sound without any added spirituality tacked on. It helps tremendously with anxiety disorders, depression, and general stress. It also helps to train your mind in focusing your thoughts and experiencing new thought patterns. Be patient, relax, control your breathing, and let it flow.

Alternatively, there are methods of meditation that involve emptying your mind of all but one thought. That's called meditating on a topic. Christian monks would often meditate on concepts and scriptures. Buddhist monks meditated on ideas and paradoxes. And so on and so forth.
>>
>>34419491
Tell me more, inteligent anon
>>
>>34419554
oh yes, and much, much more

the laws of physics aren't exacly how intellegent scientist claim it to be. There are a lot of flaws that scientists decide to ignore because they heavily cantredict how they view the universe.

thats all i'm willing to tell, you can already infer that lucid dreaming is the key.... but i am not ready to tell you exactly how to utalize it to gain these "powers"

i've already said too much.

oh and again, sorry for the spelling, i'm just too damn intelligent.
>>
hpw do you meditate do ypu just sit and try not to think or something
>>
>>34418263
been doing meditation (vipassana, samatha, mantra also becomes oom actually has a very special effect, look it up) for 2 years now, since 2 months I somehow start to feel everything in a porn as if it's sort of happening to me. it's weird but pretty cool. like bitch gets slapped and I feel it like a bit distanced but as if it's happening to me. same thing happened when I watched a movie and dude got his jaw punched in, made me start up
>>
>>34419847
There are plenty of resources online.

Just focus on the breath.

In and out

In and out

And whenever your mind wanders, which it will, gently go back to the breath.
>>
>>34418432
did you pull that out of your ass? post some scientific proof
>>
>>34419847
basically.

i've used it during panic attecks or my autismo episodes and it brought me to a more reasonable state of mind.

you ever find yourself thrashing about at night, remembering all the mean and ad things that have happened to you? Well, it took me out of my hulk stage and made me relativly calm but you have to put in some effort to stay still for the first 5 mins, also bathrooms for some reason are the best place for me to meditate. Mabye its just the sense of privacy.
>>
>tfw meditated for the first time in a while

vipassana is the tits. I'd recommend it to anyone ITT with mental health issues. You can unlearn all of your bad habits through this meditation.

ive been trying out mindfullness meditation stuff lately. it's relaxing and calms my mind down, but it just kind of makes me feel like im half asleep, i don't really get much out of it other than that. that's all i really wanted though, something to calm my mind down.

Fucking Christcucks have no respect for other spiritual practices, this is why I think they're fucking trash. If 'god' doesn't want you to do these things, why are they apparently part of your body function?
>>34418432
There's no evidence the pineal gland is anything more than a part of your brain that produces melatonin and shit. There's no evidence dreams aren't just in your head.
>>
>>34418432
The only thing dangerous in spirituality is fear.

Trust me
>>
I don't think it's a meme. I downloaded the app Mindspace and tried a couple of the exercises and they really helped clear my mind and relax me

You're fucked. You meditated too hard. When that happens it triggers a slow paralysis that will eventually engulf your body. You should never mess around with this shit
