I'm a bit worried because I'm quite introverted and brooding, but I guess basic training will fix that.

Nice man. I too figured basic training will help me shed my loser-dom. I need a sense of discipline. But I'm just trying to join the National Guard as a health care specialist. Also my state's National Guard will pay for a master's degree, so that's a good benefit.

Brit officer here again. lolwat? I was given insoles and I'm in an airborne unit. We even have to pass an "arduous course" to go airborne (and the course is FUCKING arduous, oh god)

Just don't expect to really change. That's what disappointment me the most. When you get out of basic you'll be harry hooah and shit but once you get about a year under your belt you'll start to regress. The body wants homeostasis and guess what who you were before the army is who you'll be in the army.

I really thought all the structure and exercise would help me stop being a depressed robot piece of shit. Instead of working hard I just learned to skate hard.

I've met my fair share of people in the Navy where I question just how they made it so far in the military, or just life in general. Utter pieces of shit and weird too.

Last guy in particular: Squeaky nasally voice, complete and total weeb, piece of shit who couldn't show up on time, and bitched about everything. He got sent to mast 3 times - 2 of which for being a shitty sailor, 1 time for playing his PSP on watch to some weeb game. He also clapped and squealed while watching anime on his phone - which he did all the time.

He got kicked out though, only took them 3 years to do it
