what's the fastest, bestest way to learn Spanish?
try duolingo
>>34385157
has it worked for you?
I wanna be fluent even though nobody speaks Spanish here anymore
>>34385186
i use it for russian, it's alright. you gotta use the desktop version though, the mobile one sucks big time
but yeah, it's decent if you want to learn a language, to me atleast
Learn Portuguese and get drunk as fuck. That should do it.
>>34385204
well I'm liking it already
thanks for the help
>>34385244
why Portuguese
>>34385130
>thinking Spanish from Spain is a huge difference from default
>>34385338
> why Portuguese
It was a joke anon. He was implying spanish is literally drunk portuguese.
move to any spanish speaking country for few months
>>34385553
from what I've been reading online and from my experiences with my Spanish professor there are too many nuances in all versions for me to keep track of
>>34385567
I thought it was the other way around?
>>34385130
where are youf rom Anon? I guess the States?
>>34385598
the Philippines, anon
I'm still amazed to know that Spanish is an official language in some states
>>34385614
Obviously the best way would be traveling here and living here for 3, 6 or even 12 months, but since that's obviously not a cheap option you could try Duolingo as others have said. Although it wont make you speak fluently it will be an easy start. I did it with German and it was pretty ok. Haven't tried the desktop version but the phone one wasn't bad at all.
Watch movies in Spanish with Spanish subs
no vas a aprender en uno o dos dias, la mejor forma es ir a vivir a algun lugar donde lo hablen
Get some books on it.
Also don't believe the lies you'll get taught if you take classes. Lots of Spanish teachers are full of shit (they'll tell you Spanish people from Spain "lisp" because they're imitating a dead king who lisped. Complete lie but that's what I got taught in school by multiple Spanish teachers).
Formal education is mostly bullshit anyway if you're an autodidact. It's just to get a piece of paper, not to really learn anything--and at the college level, 90% of professors teach you nothing and just load you up with homework assignments.
You can learn it from books and from practicing with native speakers, trading your language for theirs.

Duolingo sucks. They give e you these sentences with already conjugated verbs and expect you to know what the original form of the verb is, or what the conjugations are. Just get a textbook and learn the verbs and other words and grammar shit, then start to watch kids shows in Spanish. There's this show called peppa pig that they have translated into the Spain dialect (castellano) on YouTube. Once you're comfortable with that, start to think in Spanish in your head, then move to higher levels shows
>>34385775
(I had to run it in a translator to make sure)
yes I'm aware as much
I wouldn't mind taking days to learn if it means having a solid foundation
>>34385712
I'm not well-versed in Spanish cinema
got any recommendations?
>>34385831
Not him but I recommend Del Toro's movies.
>>34385831
Spain has every English movie with dubs in Spanish and English subtitles.

Put yourself in the culture. I'm from Texas and have lived around Mexicans my whole life. I haven't studied Spanish outside of the "hola como te llamas" school classes and I'm pretty good at Spanish.

Like most of anons said, try duolingo. The only downside for Duolingo mobile is that it cannot work without internet connection, other than that, it's perfect.
I'm using it as well and it is really fun and easy way to learn any language.
>>34386280
there's no culture to put myself in anymore
nobody here speaks Spanish
>>34386232
