Nerds used to be people with actual skills and knowledge. When I was a kid I built my own vacuum tube stereo amp, they had hobbies that took some effort. Now being a nerd means you bought a starwars shirt and pretend to like things. It's been explicated to make money off of stupid man children and their female equivalents.
