should I learn chess or a martial arts?
Learn tetherball and get the best of both.

I know tetherball, I'm the tetherball regional champ, my choices are chess or martial arts
Martial arts definitely I'd suggest BJJ or Judo first later on if you want to learn striking Muay Thai but getting punched in the head is not good for your health.

Both. orignahaaaa

which first?

Martial arts brah. Try to find a non bullshido self defense place as a plus too. One that does tons of sparring. Why? Because you'll learn and train foul-tactics which would be very useful in an actual street fight.

Chess. You probably need a chess mentality in order to be a martial artist. I would recommend Krav Maga, because it is a great summation of martial arts.

>you probably need a chess mentality to be a martial artist
I understand what you're saying but this is wrong

both you'll be the next jonathan waitzkin, seriously though why would they be mutually exclusive

because I have other hobbies and stuff to do, if I do one I want to put serious time into, not just bullshit around and try to be a jack of all trades
