Is there any objective reason to try at anything?
improving your quality of life, edge man.
Because the alternative is worse. Chill the fuck out dude.

"This is the great lesson the depressive learns: Nothing in the world is inherently compelling. Whatever may be really "out there" cannot project itself as an affective experience. It is all a vacuous affair with only a chemical prestige. Nothing is either good or bad, desirable or undesirable, or anything else except that it is made so by laboratories inside us producing the emotions on which we live. And to live on our emotions is to live arbitrarily, inaccurately--imparting meaning to what has none of its own. Yet what other way is there to live? Without the ever-clanking machinery of emotion, everything would come to a standstill. There would be nothing to do, nowhere to go, nothing to be, and no one to know. The alternatives are clear: to live falsely as pawns of affect, or to live factually as depressives, or as individuals who know what is known to the depressive. How advantageous that we are not coerced into choosing one or the other, neither choice being excellent. One look at human existence is proof enough that our species will not be released from the stranglehold of emotionalism that anchors it to hallucinations. That may be no way to live, but to opt for depression would be to opt out of existence as we consciously know it."

Why?

Certain things give you a dopamine rush I guess
>>34372867
I mean, depending on a number of factors, yes.
Do those things make you happy, or are worthwhile to you? If so, trying at those things is only logical, regardless of what the reason is. If you're planning on living life, trying at certain points can also prevent a lifetime of misery.
Going the extra mile is another matter. Personally, I advocate for doing the bare minimum that won't result in your life being fucked up beyond hope, and gives you options.
If you genuinely don't want anything in life, or enjoy anything in life? Nope, not really.

If you try there's at least a chance of success. If you don't try there's a 100% chance of failure.
>>34373226
There's always a 100% chance of failure regardless, we all die.
>>34373226
What's thr point of reaching that success when it really doesnt matter? Why should one invest time and energy into something that will only disappear entirely later.

If dubs life has meaning and our god kek wants us to know this
>objective
Probably not. However, as an individual your subjective reasons should suffice.

Because we're going to die is exactly why you should exert effort. You only have one shot to accomplish something, which makes the accomplishment, even if its temporary, meaningful and important.

To be fair, trying and failing can be worse than not trying at all.
