I remember I used to be absolutely mortified of driving. I hated getting into the car, being late to fucking everything because whoever was driving with me would be like "FUCKING STOP ANON YOU IDIOT" or "MAKE THE FUCKING TURN ANON" or "DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT THE FUCK RIGHT OF WAY MEANS ANON". I didn't get my license until last year (19) because of that.

I remember the very moment my attitude towards driving changed. I had to take a shit and my brother was already using the bathroom, so my mom said just to use the car and drive to the apartment clubhouse. I got in the car and put on some synthwave (more specifically this: https://youtu.be/x5-DW6HHH5E ), and holy shit driving without anyone yelling at me, anyone jerking my wheel to the side, it was the most serene and perfect experience I'd ever had. I got my license solely because of the freedom that could come with not being screamed at.

Here's my story: 22 and never driven in my life.

Sorry you had a shitty experience driving. My first time ever was pretty bad and my dad who I drove with gets inpatient fast, but then I got gud fast, though I still hated driving with him, I'd usually make him do it.

Getting my license was awesome, made me feel free in a place where you can't get around except using cars.

And now I teach driving for a living heh.

But I need a license to drive to my gym, to work, to get food sometimes, for my meds, to talk long walks by the sea sized lake near me, to go to Best buy for an amergency HDMI cable I forgot to buy off Amazon. There's a lot of stuff a license is useful for. You can find robot jobs with a license too, pizza delivery, trucking, mailman, etc. All robot jobs where you barely interact with people and you're lonely most of the time and just drive.

I just got my license last thursday. I'm pretty spooked on the road because i drive too slow for others. I drove last night in the little backroads near where i live and it was pretty comfy. I saw a lot of cute rabbits hopping around in the fields.
I think i need to get good at it and have more confidence and i should be okay.

I'm thinking it's time I do it but I'm afraid of being made fun of and shamed by the instructor.

Thinking of putting on a foreign accent so they think I've been out of the country for most of my life and never needed to drive here.

I'm not salty, I enjoy talk to you guys and my students. I've had lazy co-workers a lot and I've had to teach things to students we normally never have to other insturctor,

I'm not talking about you, but in general. Most of them get very angry with you when you make mistakes and scold you for an eternity. This pisses me off beyond no measure because you end up going scared to driving lessons in fear of not doing a mistake. I feel like they don't even take an exam that qualifies them as proper teachers.
All of this is coming from a Romanian so experiences may vary.
