It isn't just limited to women. The average American man is just a bit over 5'9" and weights nearly 200 lbs.

There are a couple of things driving it. The one that can be easily backed up by hard facts involves the price of food. Farm subsidies have skewed the price of food in such a weight that unhealthy foods, predominantly those very high in sugar, are cheaper than healthy foods, in many cases substantially so. Obesity is very strongly correlated with poverty.

My thought, much harder to prove, is that it's also to some extent a symptom of a broader cultural decline. It only seems natural that American decadence would extend to our diets.

One of the many reasons why its so hard to date in America as a man. When almost half the young women are fat, we are competing for an even smaller pool of attractive thin women. Why do you think midwest fags idolize Hollywood celebs? I could wander down to the beach or my college campus, and find countless girls who are much better looking than most celebs.
