There really is. Honestly if you're sitting around reading about elliot rogers I doubt you wanna bother finding something useful. since useful is subjective. there is a certain frame of mind you must be in if you're empathizing with a well off failure. Rogers chose to be a failure. His claim to fame was being a spoiled rich kid that couldn't figure out how to impress girls and never did anything else with his time. It's like his entire legacy on this planet is being the most non-sexually appealing male on the planet. I really don't know what to suggest for you aside from what I read or stuff off my wish list. You might like Heinlein's A Stranger in a Strange Land. I would suggest it because Benny is a rp alpha male in action, rather than a beta male faggot like elliot

What a fucking coincidence.

I bought this edition of Neuromancer today because I lost my old copy and this one caught my eye. Also I felt it was appropriate given recent events that I brush up on cyberpunk.

I hear Snow Crash is pretty fun too but it sounds like a fucking trip.

I'm reading Lolita right now. Very good, language is probably the best prose I've read. Edgy topic of course, but that helps me stay interested; overall it's very different from other literature I've read, as it has a blatantly unreliable narrator as well adding that constant element. But I can't give a full review or anything, I'm only 2/3 through.

If you really wanna escape neetdom I would suggest not going for escapism material and reading about stupid bullshit like murderers. Murderers are dumb. What I did to get out of being a neet was becoming very obsessed with technology and how it works and wanting to learn more about it, I got side tracked with basic education stuff like math, language arts, social studies, science. A lot of it I considered the basics towards learning more about how technology is created,put together, used, maintained, ect.
Getting some school certificates for that stuff made work available and I was getting paid to learn about the things I wanted to learn about machinery and technology and even nature and survival skills which I consider a branch of science of it's own.
Partly why I recommended heinlein is he had a Renaissance man attitude which is what I have and tend to strive for.
