It's not that nurture is irrelevant, but I only see correlation between serial killers and poor childhoods. I'd say a quarter the people on the street you walk by had a fucked up childhood to some degree, and they don't all turn into monsters like the monsters we're talking about, or even near the same level. another thing is how people choose to live their anger. the average person dose it by beating their family/pets. we do not hear about them on the news because those cases are many. therefore banal. also, cases as this go unreported due several reasons (finding proof, family being too forgiving)

therefore, serial killers aren't really a lot more evil, they just targeted others besides family
