Make """small talk""" ask em how things are going, if they've seen any movies, other questions, and hopefully those answers will give you either more questions to ask or a something you both find interested in talking about.

No, I just literally don't drink. I drank a beer once as a really young kid (by mistake) and felt so bad, it scarred me for life. Nearly 30 now, haven't touched alcohol since.

The thing is bro. I used to be a bit like this. Afraid to speak up. Wouldnt look anyone in the eyes etc. But heres the crazy thing, people respect authority alot more then timidness. After i started speaking from my chest, calling people out and speaking my mind. All the while having good eye contact shit turned around. What i thought would offend people in actual fact built camaraderie. Its scary but once you start to see the differences it becomes 10x better.
