The other kid, the first one that talks to him is about to leave but stays in the room and it's the one that is standing still for a while and walks around a little bit in shock before going away, like ''holy shit what happened''
My theory is that these two (and maybe others that weren't there) knew what was going to happen, but the kid that stayed probably thought it would be a good idea to see what was going to happen, like ''awesome i'm going to see people die'' but he realized it was a bad idea, the shooter even points the gun at him in the heat of the moment but he doesn't shoot

Also he failed plenty of shots, he couldn't kill one girl because he shot her hair and he also failed the first try at killing himself, the bullet goes to the roof

Serious question: why do school shooters always do it this way? The logical thing to do, and I'm sure they've thought this through for quite a while so they should realize this, is to reveal your gun and tell everyone to put their hands on their head.
