I would create my own security and mercenary company based on an outer island north of south america. I would hire low poverty villagers from disadvantage locations in Africa and asia. I would secure government contract for mercenary work in USA overseas and take the first 5 years of this to settle a base. I would than infiltrate the Northern South American countries slowly until I have a whole network going for me. I will secure political ties, drug cartel, and high ranking corrupt military officials and than perpetuate those ties during a coup with a puppet official in my place. Once everything is stable I will create an army and make my bases on land. I will than lead a campaign to kill off all drug cartels and execute all the corrupt military officials that helped me to win over the common people and gain trust with the military against a common enemy. I will use the political ties to gain office and create low cost schooling for the poor to look good in the news (which I control). I will than push my army to the land boundary and lead a blitzkrieg style assualt on neighboring country. Once I military take over a country I will promise the world that it was because of land threats and it was not a hostile action on my part. I will than keep doing this until I control the top half of South America. I will make sure to sell natural resources for cheap to USA and China to get them off my back. I will than ally myself with the rest of South America and have them join in a alliance with my country on trade and visiting agreements. By this time I will probably be an old man and be satisfied with my place in the history books. I will just live the rest of my days in a south american paradise location I created and leave the country to my sons and other advisors .

I'd be dead within a week. Probably drugs, but mostly drugs.
