Nigga my new semester started today. I'm in a state university, in a class mainly for jrs and srs (so no freshie accommodation bullshit should be involved), and literally the first thing we did was go around a room of 40-50 people and do personal introductions of age, major, and an "interesting fact about ourselves." I LITERALLY never experienced this useless shit a single time during high school, except for the freshman orientation which was before I was even technically attending the high school.

College/university is absolute AIDS where you no longer learn and process as much relevant subject material as possible. It's progressive "muh social education" time for EVERY SINGLE CLASS.

Listen, I get those skills are valuable. That's why Speech class has been a staple in most colleges for so long. But a Speech class and perhaps one semester-long seminar specializing in teaching group work skills is sufficient. When my actual education is being impeded by weekly irrelevant group work then I have a fucking problem. I'm not paying out my ass to get a degree basic social skills 101. Unless youre an autist most of that shit comes natural and these off-topic, contrived social assignments are why people are graduating and being even bigger morons than when they enrolled. Practice, mainly a shitload of benzos. The night before I just memorize the shit out of all my lines, make a small notecard on the tough parts incase my mind blanks, then go through the presentation in an efficient but somewhat dull daze. Meds also give me the confidence to project my voice and have good posture/eye contact and normie profs eat that shit up. Still get good grades on them though even though my lack of enthusiasm is at times apparent because it's hard not to let your mind wander on higher doses.
