Do depression/anxiety meds work? How do I convince my mum and doctor to get me some?
Just tell your mum or your doctor that you want to try them. Unless she's crazy against them or doesn't understand what they are, it's no big deal. In which case your doctor can clear things up.
They help a lot, but they take a couple weeks to a month or so before they start working. Effects are slow to develop but they're definitely there. You just have to find the one that works best for you. For some people, the biggest side effects are weight gain and suppressed libido.
Doctor should give you meds pretty easily if you mention you have anxiety/depression.
They didn't work in my case, though.

Do you become less of a robot if you take them? That's my goal.
>Weight Gain
Fuk. I'm a fat fuck, so anything that can cause weight gain will be a pain in the ass

Some kinda do but generally, no. You need to get diagnosed before you can start treatment. I advise against putting yourself through that though.

They kinda affect everyone differently, but I can tell you that one of the ways they work for anxiety is they kinda shave the edge off of things. They helped me be able to talk to people without getting anxious to the point to where I say some dumb shit or I just stutter like a retard.
Idk, that's just me. Your doctor will know what's best.
It's simple OP
>talk to doc
>see shrink
>shrink tests you, tell you that you've got xyz
>get scripts for some meds
>pharmacy
>a month later, follow up
>"do you like the meds, qt?"
No.
>Here, try these
Yes
>here's some more, keep it up<3
