Hey guys, looking for any and all forms of advice. Keep it as abstract as you want. Just looking for general lessons, anecdotes, ideas, aphorisms, etc.... Tell me your secret philosophy of how you continue to live with yourself from day to day; what eases the pain, what thoughts keep you motivated?

you do realize 4chin has an advice board right.
Okay. Take in mind this is based in my own personal experiences or something:
>You will fail.
>Learn from your mistakes.
>Dont give up!
>To blend with people, act like them.
>People love talking about themselves. People enjoy listening to others talk about themselves.
>We are all trying.
>At the end, we keep on living.
>Religion is a sham, but God might be a real thing.
>Internet arguments are useless, just retire.
>Arguments in general are useless unless you know you and the other are both actually interested in learning from each other.
>No matter what people say, some opinions are wrong and some are stupid. They should not be accepted.
>Be hard but try to be compassionate.
>The world is unfair.
>For many, the world is an awful place. Sometimes you cannot help them.
>Be kind.
Thats it, i know it sounds like some self help book or something but its what i got from living.

thanks for the post, this was worth while. don't be self-conscious about it sounding sentimental, it's a sentimental thread to begin with, haha. you seem like a good person.

yeah i get that, but obviously this isn't about getting concrete advice on a subject, it's about creating an environment for the Robots and Wizards to share their obscure and esoteric wisdom.

I dont think i am a good person, but thanks

I've been reading Marcus Aurelius recently. Lots of wisdom there.

nice, i've read a bit of him. would you call him a stoic? what are some bits and pieces you've gathered, that you think will stick with you?
>>34130756
Yes he is considered a stoic. I like what he says about how the external cannot injure us and that we decide how things influence us. Also, the things that happen to us are ultimately good for us as the universe would not cause things to happen that is bad for itself.
I probably butchered that so I'd recommend listening to the man himself.

(And we bring a natural part of the universe)
