I bought a bunch of synthesizers in the past year - I tell myself that getting new synths will make me better but I just need to put the practice in.

I used to play piano when I was in school but I haven't practiced seriously in years. I want to start taking lessons again but I want to use a real piano and I don't have the money or space. So just trying to improve my craft in what little ways I can.

I sometimes wish I could make a living being a creative person. My day job pays well enough that I don't want to quit, and I don't have the willpower to practice anything long enough to really do it well. I also worry that I'd grow to hate something that I love if I had to rely on it to eat. If I keep my head down and work eventually I will make at least one beautiful thing.

Who else is about to get hit by the ice storm? Hard to get comfy knowing that I may lose power.
