So anons, why haven't you become a doctor yet? I'm convinced this is the best possible way for any hardworking robot to ascend to chadhood.

By becoming a doctor, you get:
>literal 300k starting salary once you're an attending, with the potential to earn much more depending on specialty and hours worked.
>normies immediately respect you and women get wet instantly when you tell them what you do
>comfy radiology involves minimal social interaction, while being one of the top-earning specialties
>get to be the top dog in the hospital and worshipped by nurses and patients
>most respected and prestigious occupation
>never have to worry about unemployment or having to work a soulless wagecuck retail job again
>If you want to walk away from your job and NEET it up for a while you will have the power and wealth to do so after just a few short years working as an attending
>get to delay entering the real world and wagecucking until you're 26, assuming you start med school at 22

It's a lot of hard work to get there, but I think it might be a great option for many of you.

It's possible to turn yourself around and gain work ethic. I nearly flunked out of school my first semester of freshman year out of laziness., took a medical leave, came back and made a 4.0 this semester. It's definitely doable for any robot I think.

Plus, I'm poor and old, so I can't really afford to go to medical school. It would be an extremely risky investment.

Well, salaries for doctors I'm sure are better in the Bay Area in proportion to the higher living costs. Though it would probably be a good idea to move to a lower cost of living area if you want to maximize income. In the southeast, midwest, and rural areas especially doctors can make a killing because of low cost of living and high demand.

Intelligence isn't as important to becoming a doctor as it is to something like physics or mathematics; it's mostly hard work. Med school is mostly rote memorization, which anybody can do.

There's a saying: "There are smart doctors and stupid doctors, but no lazy doctors."

I'm sure you're more than smart enough to do it, you just need to work harder.

> working for jews
No thank you, maybe if the job hours were reasonable (40 hours a week not almost twice as much) and women made for kind, caring, loving wives. Plus the hospitals weren't filled with retards raping societies resources due to their bullshit. Then it would be worth it. However the way society is today; decaying like a corpse, I'll pass and I don't give a rat's ass about anyone's opinion.

4 years of undergrad + 4 years of med school + 2 years of grueling residency working 80 hours a week + 2-4 years of further residency

all so you can start making 150-250k a year when you're 30 years old

or you can do pharmacy and optometry and make 100 k when you're 25/26, work less hours and live a stress free life

Yea, for work-life balance while still making a decent income pharmacy or nursing is a much better deal. But do you really want to be a glorified retailcuck working at walgreens over a doctor? Don't you care about your ego?

Also how much you work is very much dependent on your chosen specialty. If you go neurosurgery then yea of course you're going to spend a lot of your early working life in the hospital. But dermatology, for instance, has the same schedule as pretty much any 9-5 job while still making the big bux.

You wouldnt. its depressing. The only good thing for you would be that its a lot cheaper but most people are basically slaves and poor struggling to survive. And dont study here. We have very poor education because the good material that we built during socialist era was all destroyed and now we are very far away from the norms of other western universities.

I live in Slovakia. No point in going here if you dont want cheap stuff, cheap land or hire slaves for your cheap management. Maybe if yo uwant a slav girlfriend or whatever otherwise if you are born here you are pretty much fucked if you are not exceptional or know someone important.

It's all about perspective. I don't really see it as sacrificing my youth, what would I be doing anyway if I just graduated from undergrad and went to work straight away? I'd just be another disenchanted college grad working in a soulless 9-5 cubicle job making 50k a year. Might as well spend my 20's working toward a brighter future so that I can fully enjoy my 30's, 40's and beyond.
>>
Because I'm becoming an engineer, it's easier and faster.
IMO it has bigger possibilities, but the average is obviously a lot lower than the avg doctor.
I have photographic memory so I get high grades with minimal work. This is very useful for medical studies.
I always thought I would somehow distinguish myself (cuz im so special).. I guess we'll see that once I graduate?

You forgot to mention:
>Not as much choice in terms of residency, the only options you have are what the military needs at the time, so you may end up having to work for the rest of your career in a specialty that you don't even like
>Greatly reduced pay unless your an internist or family med
>Less freedom, may be stuck in a fort in the middle of Oklahoma

Other than that there's a lot of good benefits to being a physician in the military, but unless you're in a lower paid specialty you will end up losing out on a lot of money despite the free tuition.

I study medicine in Slovakia and there's a good number of foreign students. The reason for studying here for most, if not all of them, is that they couldn't get into their local medical universities - it's always hard for the locals to get in - but the slovak English language programs only have like 150% as many applicants as there are spaces, it's very easy to get in.

Medicine is pretty fucking awful though and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Unless you have autismo levels of interest in medicine, vast majority of the shit you must learn won't be interesting in the slightest, and indeed there's a large amount of shit that you must learn, and it takes a huge amount of time and effort. Being a doctor will make women wet when you actually are one, nobody's going to give a shit that you're attending medicine, so you get all kinds of bonuses like
>the first vagina you've seen was on a corpse
>the first living vagina was on a living corpse
>chatting up old ladies in the hospital all day erryday
>said old ladies being the only women to hit on you

I thought a lot about becoming an engineer before deciding on pursuing medicine. What turned me off of it is that, while you start off with a pretty high salary, it caps out at low six-figures pretty quickly, so there's less room to grow than there is with some sort of business job like finance. The problem with the business route though is obviously that you're competing with a million other frat chads and staceys who have connections from their ivy league school and daddy = very difficult for a robot or even normie to break into. Getting into medicine at least is a meritocracy based on your grades and MCAT scores, not as much nepotism.

You can definitely get into business and management with an engineering background though and do really well; I just don't want to deal with networking bullshit.
>>
>>34119788
Shut the fuck up redhit
>>
>>34119746
Or you could just become a plumber and make roughly the same salary over lifetime.
>>
>>34121287
Because in STEM, outside of medicine, you're not just supposed to simply stay working for a company if you want big bux. You need to either pursue your business or use your skills in innovation to create something worthwhile.

Jobs cap out, opportunities do not. The whole deal with engineering is the ability to create and design. If you just work for a company your whole life you will never achieve high salary.
>>
>>34121269
It's highly dependent on specialty, but they absolutely do. Bear in mind that doctors have to go through four years of undergrad, four years of med school, and four years of residency. The reward for all that time studying is a hefty salary, else nobody would do it.
>>
>>34119746
200k, not 300k salary. And doctors fall under the worst possible tax bracket, so you're giving 30% of that to Uncle Sam. Takes years to work salary up to 300k but it feels good when you do it.

Also, going into business gets more money and bitches. Med school is insanely hard to get into these days and doctors aren't always confident people. Many kill themselves from stess compared to other professions. Doctor doesn't even guarantee a woman. There are chad doctors that you must compete with who will dominate the workplace. Don't fucking forget that.

From the looks of it, you're still in undergrad.

Yeah I bet it's great being a doctor. Being underpaid, thinking you wasted your early adulthood with biology books instead of getting fucking wasted with sluts.

And then of course, having to live through day to day life. Take public transport to the hospital, come on in and begin your day by reassembling little Jimmy because he got run over by a truck this morning on the way to school. After you're elbow deep in kid juice his good parents call you a retard for not making their kid walk after being run over, however thanking God for keeping him alive.

Then you go on with your day, have a coffee, eat your sandwich. Go elbow deep again, but instead in a man who thought it was a good idea to bathe in gasoline and have a smoke. Guy is crispy and yet you have to bind him back together.

After bandaging good ol' Joe for his wounds you come home, kiss your wife goodnight and go to sleep, because you been at the hospital all day long. Your wife is not happy about it and has been fucking the hippie next door neighbor behind you. Unbeknownst to both of them, she is pregnant with a retard child that she will hide from you long enough for abortion to no longer be moral.

And you people say that wagecucking is slavery. Slavery is when you dedicate your life to your masters but isn't it slavery when you dedicate you life to save the lives of others?

At least slaves felt good about themselves.

Also, depends what kind of business. Don't think accountants are drowning in bitches, that's mostly finance chads and execs that got to where they are because of nepotism and connections. If you don't have those things, it's an uphill battle to get to that sort of place.

>>34119746
Best joke.

Graduating here in 5 months and hell no. No way that's what you're going to experience. Let me tell you a closer to Earth experience.

You will have to give up most of your private life. Most workers, their job done, can simply go home and not give a shit. You won't. The studying never ends. Those used to suffering will not ask for assistance unless their life is in threat, and normies will treat you as their slave, their minds sometimes even faking real disease symptoms or magnifying them (Anxiety is a first world disease and get ready to see lots of it)

You have no choice about your patient. The worst and the best, those whom you hate and those you love you will have to treat as long as you're wearing a white coat. Hell, the law states that in accidents, you have to assist.

Respected? HAHAHAHAHAHA

People will judge you for your clothing, your gf, your lack of one, people who'll not trust you if you lack a beard, if you don't believe in god or if you do...

Also, this job is about the most beautiful and disgusting things of mankind. You will see the worst, see people at their weakest, see children diseased and miserable, blood, urine and faeces even have a couple patients throw up on you or have to stick a finger up their ass.

You will be alone. Alone in your studies, alone in your responsibilities, burdened with knowledge and experiences the average normie would not even comprehend.

Think about it while you still can. But if, regardless of ungrateful assholes, knowing you'll be alone among idiots, you have a stoic enough soul to take pride in a job well done, a face with a smile because they are no longer suffering, a mother's joy. If you wish to truly understand the humans, become a doctor.

Would NOT do this again, I wish every day of my life that I never applied to medical school. I'd give anything to jump timelines and go to grad school or just start working after college.

My life is better now than it was during med school, or as an intern, but fuck me medicine is AWFUL.

People ask me to give advice to their friends or college-age kids about going to med school, I tell them to not go. If you think I'm just salty, polls of doctors show over 92% would tell their own family members to -not- go into medicine altogether.

maybe if you like working at least 10 hours a day every day including weekends and holidays, doing nothing but reading mindless documents about corporate mergers and tax laws. Then in 3 years you either quit, get laid off, or commit suicide, after which you either get a job working as an in-house lawyer for 120k or become a real estate agent or something. and all of that is if you get into Yale, Harvard, or Stanford. Otherwise enjoy poverty-tier PD work or never getting a job, even if you graduate from other T14 schools.

>>

Go ask attendings in the department at your school about CRNAs affecting the job market. Your salary would have been around $300k a few years ago, if you're in med school now you can expect to make as much as IM (not hospitalist) or FM after residency and work almost as many hours.

I wish we had other country's systems of med school admission here in the States. It's insane and truly sadistic the amount of bullshit they put you through here just to get in. Would be very nice to skip all the extraneous undergrad stuff and go into it straight from high school, or whatever your equivalent of high school is.
>>
If you're in the US or Canada there's no point going into medicine over something like pharmacy or optometry imo.

The extra stress and work isn't worth it, plus you have to be a super normie to get into med school.
>>
>>34119746

I'm a doctor and I'm a KV. Girls don't care. Still can't get a single response in online dating.

Otherwise it's good work, with good pay, and I've seen more tits and vaginas than I care to so there's that.
>>
>>34124683
What are the advantages of pharmacy over med school?
>>
>>34124907
100k-120k salary working 35-40h, good tax bracket, not as much debt, nowhere near as much stress in school, stress free job, immediate can start working at 25-26 years of age rather than having to do residencies until you're 30 like in medicine.

To be a doctor, you really have to be a hardcore normie who likes helping people out, you also basically have to be a drone who follows basic protocol in treating diseases. Some fields like dermatology are chill af and pay a LOT but those are near impossible to get into.
>>
>>34124958
Thank you, I really appreciate the insight pharmabro
>>
>>34124958
>drone who follows basic protocol

That's not really accurate. 90% of my job as a GP isn't following any kind of protocol. It's trying to figure out what's wrong with people, explain to them what's wrong, tell them what the treatment is, and then convince them I'm correct.

It's a pain in the ass a lot of the time since people don't actually want to take care of their health or do the right thing. They just want to sit around eating chips all day on the couch and then complain when their backs start hurting from degeneration because now they think they need MRI's and percocets or whatever nonsense.

I enjoy my job overall. But it's a very people-oriented job which feels like a constant combination of sales, marketing, and detective work.
>>
>>34125068
>explain to them what's wrong, tell them what the treatment is, and then convince them I'm correct.
aka following the textbook
>>
>>34125159

Not really. What you're talking about with "following the textbook" is maybe 10-20% of what I do. eg. Diabetes/hypertension/cardiac drugs. The rest is interpersonal interaction, rapport building, motivational interviewing, and trying to convince people to do certain things.
>>
>>34125242
i.e. things you're taught from a textbook

there's a reason why mindless drones with no innovation like the chinese or indians love becoming doctors, it's because they like/are forced to work hard since really it just takes dedication to become a doctor rather than actual intelligence

that's why there are tons of roastie whores who are otherwise dumbasses that also become doctors
>>
>>34125373
>interpersonal interaction, rapport building, motivational interviewing, and trying to convince people to do certain things

Those weren't in any of the textbooks I studied in med school. That's the social part of medicine that some of us are good at and some of us are bad at. Depends mostly on your innate people skills.

Don't really care if being a doctor takes intelligence or not. Not important. It's an okay job if you like people and are good with people.

If you're bad with people you'll struggle constantly.

Also love your /pol/ schtick. I'm sure you're a super genius with an IQ of 150 who is just too smart to go to school and actually get a job.

What's a good job in your mind? What are you going to do when you grow up?
>>
>>34125474
good work hours, stress free, 6 figures

in the healthcare fields these would be optometry and pharmacy

finance and engineering at the best if you can beat 60% of your class

also, to be a doctor you have to be a tremendous normie, so leave
>>
>>34119746
>literal 300k starting salary once you're an attending
After 4 years of university & 4 years of residency, it's about helping people the money is just compensation
>get to be the top dog in the hospital
Not even close unless you're a department head or your hospital is a rural piece of shit and you're the only doctor in 100 miles
>>
>>34125530

Yeah optometry is better of the two since you can set your hours.

Problem with finance and engineering is both will leave you with very long hours and no flexibility.

I can work as few as 30 hours a week and get paid >200K. It's very stressful though.

I'm not a normie. I'm a wizard.

>>
>>34125614

Doctor here.

Can verify.

The guys in med school and residency who were 6'+ and/or handsome got ridiculously hot girls constantly.

It made no difference for me.

It's a multiplier effect. Being a doctor maybe adds 20-30% to your total attractiveness. If you're already a 7/10 total package, you can go up to a 9/10 total rating.

If you're a 3/10, you go up to a 4/10 and still get nothing.

I still can't get a single reply in online dating. But I haven't posted a picture of me in my scrubs yet which I've heard can help.

The one benefit of being a doctor is you make a lot of money, so you can buy sugar babies. Personally I don't like that idea though so I haven't done it.

I just spend my weekends and free time on 4chan like I have for the past 9 years whining and complaining.

Maybe you'll do better. Women SAY they like doctors. But I think that only applies if you've already met their physcial requirements which I can't do.
>>
>>34125657
But it is.
You're going to be doing huge hours and lots of study for ok money hoping you get into the specialty you want which requires another 4 or so years of specializing in before you can become a consultant.

If you just cared about money you'd be in business.

Well, if you have money, then
4 years of undergrad
>get perfect grades (above 3.7), especially in your science classes, those are the most important
>one year of bio, one year of gen chem, one year of orgo chem, one year of physics, and one year of calculus are the prereqs, your major doesn't matter.
>Make above a 500 on the MCAT
>Do extracurricular and volunteer shit

As far as calculus goes, the key is practice problems. Don't just read over your notes, calculus is literally do practice problems to get an A: the class.
