I used have two friends who I used to consider my best friends in middle school and early high school. But like the other poster in the thread my friends also became normies. One of them is at Chad level right now. While they grew into well adjusted people, I stayed home and jerked off throughout my schooling. When I realized this I knew I had to cut them off.

I had one from the 4th to 7th grade then we fought and I didn't have one again until 21. I see all these jokes about "when you and your best friend" and I'm just thinking "people do that shit together?"

Idk I grew up alone but I'm alright with it. I kinda take pride in it. Most people have never been without someone by their side so they'd have no idea how to function if they lost all their friends. I was friendless for 8 years (not even long in /r9k/ years) so I'm cool with having no one.

That's the worst type of friendlessness. When you see someone as your best friend but you realize that you're nothing more than someone they kind of get along with.

I remember when I worked as a paint delivery man, I delivered to this construction site. My "best friend" from high school saw me and said my name. I had a big smile on my face and did the handshake/hug thing because that's what me and my actual friends do.

The other construction workers asked him in Spanish, "you know him?" he said "yeah, from school"

From school? So we didn't grow up in the same neighborhood, have all the same "friends", and do a whole bunch of other shit together? I thought we were like brothers.

So now that's what I do with most of my old high school "friends".

it's a curse. i have a best friend, but i always fear that they only hang out with me out of pity, regardless of how many times they're reassured me that they love me.

Had a best friend. After high school we grew apart and only then did I realize how much he meant to me. Found out I liked dudes in college and just really wanted to fuck him. Against my better judgement I told him. Things got awkward and haven't talked to him in four years. Never had a friend like him since. Think about him everyday.

Not exactly the theme of the thread buto I have no one else to share with. Forget the best friend thing. Never tell the truth to anyone.
