If you don't get torn to pieces by snorks, fleshes, or whirlwind anomalies you can snag a few off some other less fortunate stalker in Chernoby or the Junkyard. A lot of the later places they are pretty abundant. Clear Sky corpses especially.

This is one of my favorite game series

I like multiplayer games as much as i like singleplayer ones

Is it just me or is the gaming industry in terrible shape for the last decade? I remember games being really great at the turn of the century, but since about 2006, when X360 and PS3 showed up, and PC gaming started to die because of piracy, it seems like AAA games became, with few exceptions, complete shit. Back then they were made by nerds with passion, now it's just massive corporations who bought studios and fired all "our people" there. Other good studios bankrupted.

I mean just compare some indie games like Hotline Miami and the themes they have, touch upon to the plastic, PC, normie-friendly AAA games. All this gay stuff in Mass effect 3, tranny in DA Inquisition, now non-whites in Battlefield 1, like what the fuck.

It's just like internet in general. 15 years ago it was for "nerds", privacy was very important, new world, discovering new websites etc. great culture. Then normies came with social media and killed it and now it stinks.

It's like we're being invaded. Every time we find something for ourselves they just follow and ruin it.

Games turning to shit has nothing to do with "piracy" but with appealing to the lowest common denominator (Normie friendliness) that does not allow for experimentation.
Indie games are still good, at least here you can love or hate them.
On the bright side you save a lot of money on hardware by playing old games.

It was clearly visible when a game franchise started with a PC-exclusive game and the sequels were made for consoles. Like Deus Ex vs Invisible War.

Also RTS, strategies, simulators and the rest of genres that were big when PC gaming was making money.
