I especially hate it if it's something like working with your hands, like assembling things or something that takes manual dexterity.

I've heard people say that seeing others succeed should be a source of motivation. Not for me, I can't stand other people's success, especially women's.

I know this one all too well. The Olympics cuts a particularly deep wound. I hate being so incompetent and it creates a really unique feeling in the pit of the stomach. It's like a mixture of despair, futility and resignation.

Now this thread kind of reminds me why I hate hanging out with some people

its just because you haven't found something you enjoy doing or are interested in enought to put in countless hours of structured practice.

when you see someone crushing at something behind that display is 1000s of hours of practice, training, and probably a structured environment to learn it.

it's a facade basically. ya they're good it at, tangibly so, but it didn't just happen out of nowhere.

It is, as the pessimists say, decided at birth. Humans are naturally stratified by talent. In fact, all the necessary testing done (SAT, MCATS, ASVABS, etc etc) are all just spins on the ol' IQ test, designed to weed out the genetically inferior from the genetically superior.

Only if it's something I've also tried to be good at. If it's a completely different activity that I've never even attempted I find it quite comfy watching somebody who's an absolute boss at it
