Anyone here have really vivid dreams (recurring or not) that stick with you long after they've ended?
Like, I've got fond memories of people and places that never have and never will exist. I've done and experienced things I've never done and felt in real life. Relationships with people that only exist in my dreams. I feel all the same emotions and feelings every time I play back those memories in my head. It's a bizarre form of powerful nostalgia-- I'd describe it like "coming home". In fact, it's kind of the only way I feel such powerful nostalgia. I usually lie awake after feeling like a long trip ended, especially when my dream ends with goodbyes. It's kind of bittersweet to me.
I also have dreams of random shit that happens in the future, but that's a bit unrelated.
TL;DR Vivid dreams that stick with you for a long time after/memories of things that never have and will exist.
I try to make it a point to revisit certain dream places in my memory a few times every day or so. I don't ever want to forget them because they are, to me, what things could have or should have been like. Especially the more complex locations. I don't really interact with people as much, though, now that you mention it. I'm usually enthralled by the general ambiance and physical structures.

I rarely have dreams like only a few a year, but when I do they're normally terrifying and vivid as hell

I do the same, too. At least, with the memories of my dreams. I don't want to forget them. I always wanna recognize the people and places I see again, especially since some of them are quite dear to me.
Plus, you can sometimes find why you had them if you dig deep enough. I'm obsessed with knowing all there is about myself, and sometimes my dreams offer a bit of insight on the matter.

I took 5mg of melatonin last night, Dreamt I killed an alien crab thing, it had green blood, then I went home and on my way back I found two collapsible Batons in a drainpipe.
Melatonin gives you weird as fuck dreams sometimes...
You think that's weird.
