I miss chat rooms. I guess some are still out there, but they're not as plentiful and populated, especially IRC
i feel like 4chan is the last big place where you don't have to have any kind of real information attached. to sign up for another website to use it, you have to go and make a fake e-mail and username and 8 character password with letters, numbers, and symbols
and you're right, everything has normies now, we're just TOO connected. 4chan was separate from myspace, myspace was separate from real life, real life was separate from the internet.

i'm in an IRC chan i've been in since like 1999, known a lot of people there since then, have had quite a few newcomers over the years, mostly invited by one guy who is on disability so he has fuckall else to do
