Just saw this gem. Any other movies you fags would like to share?
>preferably but not necessarily violent movies set in the past
>robot tier movies
>anything else
>>
>>34070085
The Guest and The Double are fucking great, underrated movies.
>>
>>34070119
Dude fuck off. Imdb ratings for these both are too low.in my experience I don't tend to enjoy movies with low ratings.
>>
I watched Barton Fink recently. Noir style movie about a theater writer who moves to Hollywood. Basically about the arrogance and naivety of people that claim to be out for the little guy.
>>
>>34070085
>Hateful 8
>gem

Maybe if you're a cuck, normal people find it shit.
>>
>>34070493
Nobody on this board is normal

REEEEE GET OUT NORMIE
>>
>>34070183
>trusting imdb
>ever

My bad, I thought people here could judge movies by their content
>>
>>34070493
Hey bitch. Are you retarded? Imdb ratings are given by people all over the world. It's an 8.1 which is a way above average rating. So "Normal" people consider it pretty good. Besides, if you're looking for "Normal", you're in the wrong place, pal.
>>
>>34070262
>I'LL SHOW YOU THE LIFE OF THE MIND
Great fucking movie, the Coens are masters.
>>
>>34070493
>normal

Also I thought it was a great remake of The Thing.
>>
>>34070564
The ones who resist reviews don't have much time to spare and so use it to selectively watch movies. It's pretty effective and less time consuming than going through a bunch of 6.5s and judging each by "content".
>>
>>34070085
Django Unchained (also by Tarantino)
>>
>>34070682
Django was his most linear and probably his weakest imo. The John Woo shootout at the end is fucking baller, but despite it being better made than most blockbusters it's kinda...it doesn't feel like much.
>>
>>34070085
Vacancy

A good underrated horror movie
>>
>>34070748
You're probably right about that, but it does have some kickass action. Here's the scene I think you're talking about https://youtu.be/QbmDpEhAp48
>>
The Lobster is great robot movie.
>>
>>34070641
I'm just saying, if you want to watch a movie that's different from what you usually watch go with some shit that's a little more divisive.

Into The Wild, that's a movie that you can't really be in-between on. Either you admire the main character's spirit and determination or you think he's a fucking moron that killed himself for no reason.
>>
>>34070085
War Dogs
*IT AIN'T ME STARTS PLAYING*
>>
>>34070085
I liked this movie, bretty gud, try District 9 or Sicario, my top 2 movies, can't pick a favorite
>>
>>34070778
That's the one.

Check out this scene, there's some clear and intentional similarities between the two (flying backwards, crashing through windows, choppy slo-mo, motherfuckin' dual wielding)

>>
>>34070085
the hateful eight was a waste of time
>>
Goodfellas
Casino
Taxi Driver
almost anything by my nigga scorsese really
>>
>>34070820
I've seen Into The Wild. I related with his desire to explore something greater in this world, enjoy the beauty of nature and transcend beyond human relationships. But I didn't like how he in the end came to the conclusion that joy was best shared with others.
>>
Snatch
Lock stock 2 smokin barrels
The Double
Predestination
Millers Crossing
In Bruges
Kiss Kiss bang bang
Memento
Wanted
Clockwork Orange

Good taste there anon
>>
>>34070085
The Hateful Eight was just a grittier more expensive version of reservoir dogs, Tarantino could have done more. Overall i didn't hate the movie though, i would say it was above average but not a gem.
MFW i saw Magic Mike in the movie.

>>34070085
Check out The Proposition and Bone Tomahawk.
>>
>>34070085
>>preferably but not necessarily violent movies set in the past

You might like Bone Tomahawk
>>
If you haven't seen Gangs of New York I highly recommend it. Also Eastern Promises which I bring up in every thread about movies because it is awesome and highly underseen.
>>

Filth

Castaway on the Moon
Pi
No Country For Old Men
The Big Lebowski
Pulp Fiction
12 Monkeys
Der Untergang
Step Brothers
The Other Guys
>>
>>34071833
you seem to be lost friendo, you should close this tab and go back to /pol/
>>
>>34071583
Forgot about Trainspotting and Donnie Darko by trying to list some less mentioned and fun movies. These two are peculiar and about as rarely watched now as The Double.

Looper and Source Code for mindf but didn't quite like the latter because it's like Shutter Island in a sense.

Fight Club is pretty much obligatory, even if you're not gonna like it you can make of it what you will, it's a journey of learning imo.

Pulp Fiction is overrated but decent and at times real amusing.

Drive/Nightcrawler for autism/psychotic power fantasy

Barton Fink wasn't very captivating but if you have time to kill it's alright.

Usual Suspects
The Machinist

You will get tired of the type I'm listing after watching these though. From there I recommend either crime books or looking for another running theme you love.
>>
>>34072272
And Synecdoche with Birdman for metamovies.
>>
Here's the last 3 movies I watched that I really enjoyed
>Super
>Sling Blade
>He Never Died

There's this one Eastern Euro film from the 80s a friend showed me. It had English subtitles on youtube, but it's been taken down.
I haven't been able to find subs for it.
I wish someone native would make them so i could show it to people i really enjoyed the movie.

It's an epidemic horror film. Variola Vera (Latin for smallpox).
It has this awesome leitmotif that it uses for some seriously tense moments.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMY4Ah7EupY
Basically the first minute of this.
I've never thought i'd be sacred of a fucking flute before.

The main character is played by that one actor who plays every Eastern Euro dude in every Hollywood film. But he's young.

It starts off like this
>muslim goes on hajj
>gets infected with a 3rd world disease that's been eradicated in 1st and 2nd world countries
>gets misdiagnosed by the chief physician who is a subtle representation of political corruption
>the whole hospital gets infected and quarantined
>>
There Will Be Blood is pretty great watch.

I really liked the aesthetics
>>
>>34070085

Irreversible, nymphomaniac, Ed Wood, true stories
>>
>>34070085

The Public Enemy from 1931 is not very violent but it has some violence, great movie and James Cagney is just the perfect actor when it comes to gangsters. Taxi Driver is a must, Fight Club too and maybe the original Scarface with Paul Muni

>When you can't tell your fantasies from reality

You need to lay off the BLACKED
>>
>>34070085
I love The Hateful Eight and since I know that someone is going to bash it on the grounds that it is bluepilled I'd like to defend it for a moment.

Yes, the movie depicts a black high ranking union officer forcing a naked ex-confederate to suck his dick before killing him, no denying that. However, the movie clearly shows that Samuel L. Jackson's character's presentation of himself as a proud, moral man was total bullshit. It shows that he was a nihilistic, rage driver murderer who was arguably even worse than the villains in the story. The confederate general is shown as mean but he was shown in a human light and you are made to feel bad for him in the end. The confederate sheriff of redrock's war crimes are given about 5 seconds worth of discussion and for the rest of the movie he is shown almost exclusively as a lovable good guy, and the movie points out that he was correct in his mistrust of Samuel L. Jackson and other black people.

Also, Minnie is described as ridiculously racist towards mexicans and it is later revealed that she is black, showing that minorities share hate and prejudice as well.
