I think it all helped because if I never did any sports or exercised, none of that and lived the life I had all the same, I would probably be pretty overweight, have diabetes, just be very fucked up health wise.

There are always a few kids on the team who have zero athletic ability and are only there because their parents make them go. None of the little Chads there will ever talk to you guys or invite you to do anything outside of practice. When you play against other teams you'll just sit on the bench together and watch all the other kids play. If you ask the coach why he hasn't let you out on the field he'll always make some excuse or tell you to just wait a few minutes (ad infinitum). The coach won't tell you that he knows you suck and doesn't want you fucking up his game. Eventually the other bench warmer kids will quit one by one and you'll quit too when you realize you're going to be alone around a bunch of Chad players and coaches who hate you.

I was born in 1985 so I don't know how it would work for kids today with their whole "participation trophy" culture they have now in kids sports. That wasn't around when I was a kid. If you sucked, you knew it and were treated like shit.
