I get it though, it's hard. Really hard to say those first words. Usually what I try to do is just get into a situation conducive to having conversation with her. Like if I'm standing in line with her, if I'm sitting next to her before class, stuff like that. Think about it a bit and try to figure out a way to end up in a situation where it'd be probably socially acceptable to strike up conversation. Maybe she'll enjoy talking to you and she'll smile when she sees you on the days after that.

There's a girl I'm into now who wasn't the easiest to start talking to. We had a class together and I happened to not have a book that we needed at one point so I asked her for it. We became friends on normiebook and even after I borrowed the book I kept talking to her, and messaging her on normiebook every once in a while. She seemed to like talking to me. I eventually started sitting near her in class and we'd strike up conversation before/after class and walk out together. She would even wait for me at one point. Woah. We won't have class together this semester, but we plan on hitting up libraries together to study with each other and maybe going to get lunch before the semester starts. Honestly it's the farthest I've gotten with a girl, and I started from like not even knowing her (though I knew OF her) six months ago.

You can do it man. Just try to act natural but be careful with what you say. Just kind of test the waters and see how much she enjoys talking to you.
