Tweak the rating to fit yourself. I rarely rate anything a 10 because it has to be considered perfect. 9 will go down in history or considered a master piece. 8 is something I really like. 7 is something I found enjoyable. 6 is something that stands out. 5 is okay. 4-2 is varying trash. I have yet to rate anything a 1 because similar to 10, it must be absolute garbage that sickens me

There will never ever be a 10/10 in this world and if there is, it will be the like the End of Evangelion. The same goes for 0/10 as well. Nothing is ever perfect and nothing is ever completely shit.

Don't overrate stuff. MAL is horrible with over rated shoujo shit. I have been tricked by them many times

But how will you know what you actually like? I don't want to be trapped in a little bubble when there is so much undiscovered shit that I might like. And maybe in the future you can try to rewatch the ones you don't like and see if you can like it. I find that better than recycling the same thing over and over again.

Also I find it strange you have favorites when you didn't rewatched anything. I find it ideal to rewatch a series at least once so you can catch the small things you didn't notice before.

I have a good idea of if I'll like the show or not before going into it. I enjoy most genres so the show would have to try really hard to make me not want to watch it.

Becuase you use these things to pass the time rather than hold them as a geniune interest. Or it's really hard to talk about it beyond the actual plotline.

A person who had to be trained to write and play or animate can look at these things from a more technical aspect.

You also want to have fun and wont let the little things get in the way
